In 2011, the Romneys paid $1,935,708 in taxes on $13,696,951 in mostly investment income.
The RomneysÂ’ effective tax rate for 2011 was 14.1%.
The Romneys donated $4,020,772 to charity in 2011, amounting to nearly 30% of their income.
The Romneys claimed a deduction for $2.25 million of those charitable contributions.

The RomneysÂ’ generous charitable donations in 2011 would have significantly reduced their tax obligation for the year.

The Romneys thus limited their deduction of charitable contributions to conform to the Governor's statement in August, based upon the January estimate of income, that he paid at least 13% in income taxes in each of the last 10 years.

How much did YOU pay and what was YOUR rate?

Yes, he produced a return that conforms to his campaign statements. So what, he will be able to amend that return, go back and take the rest of his charitable deduction, and pay only 9% in taxes once the spotlight is off his returns.
The 2011 return shows pages and pages of shielded off-shore investments. Structured solely for the purpose of avoiding taxes. Offering up statements that say we "owed" not we "paid". How many of the unreleased returns were audited or revised. Why are the other years returns not available? It is not just about how much he paid, it is about what percentage he paid in relationship to other citizens. This 2011 return reveals nothing, except how gullible he believes us to be.

Romney said "If I paid one cent more than the law required, I don't serve to be President." He paid $2 million more than necessary, and I agree, he doesn't deserve to be President.

You are the only one screaming (all caps), and why is it when differing opinions are offered, in succinct and reasonable form, you lose it? Where is your reasoned response? Where is your investment into discovering your own thought and voice? Being a bully is not a valuable tool for debate, it sways no one.

When Romney opens his mouth to speak nothing but LIEs that change day to day depending on what group he's speaking and saying what he thinks they want to hear. Pay attention to what's going on Stop being a FOOL..Listen and learn!

I am not screaming. I want Mr. Romney to release 10 years of his taxes, just like he required of Mr. Ryan. Just like his father did, and just like every other Presidential candidate has done. Mr. Romney is the one who stated, ever so coyly, that he would not be Presidential material if he overpaid his taxes. Then he released a return, that because he had to make match his claims of precentages paid, shows that (so far) he has overpaid his 2011 taxes.
