I don't know any names involved. But I have heard from reliable sources that the kids did not get paid. And the bidders did pay the association for their bids. So sad to say, I believe this sad situation is true. I hope someone that goes to that meeting posts and tells us what is going to happen for these kids.

It is fairly common knowledge in our community that despite the La Porte Rodeo Association financial checks and balance process the promised funds to the children has been embezzled. Oh wait a minute...thats right the association decided not to continue to have financial checks and balances to prevent this all to common human adult factor. All who lead or attempt to provide voluntary leadership have a responsibility to remain constant and steadfast to the overall objective. Somewhere along the way it seems the professional management of the association has been deluted. There has been aLott going on in La Porte.

Their house needs to be sold... their car needs to be sold... and their labor is bought and paid for already.

Lock the individual up at night when they are not working to repay what they owe... until they finish paying it back.

This woman has commented "aLott" about "being there for the kids and it is all about the kids." Well I wonder if she was thinking about "the kids" while spending their hard earned money. Very sad and she should pay. The kids involved in these programs need to see that their are consequences to actions and that the adults are going to do right by them.

One of the saddest things is that with SOME of these kids, the money they have EARNED (while doing so as a leap of faith) and are OWED, is still actually owed to someone else FOR their animals!
That is - the ones who "play fair" and are not part of the .......... issues; as others clearly are!
Pray for our kids that they walk away from this with a lesson learned that will serve them the rest of their lives! Please speak up for transparency (FINALLY)in our WHOLE association that USED to be there, is NO longer....but CAN BE AGAIN!
Anyone is welcome to the meeting tomorrow (Thurs, Nov. 4)to help see to it these kids get SOME KIND of "justice", AND MORE IMPORTANTLY - our association recover from this issue, put it behind us and SURVIVE!

Absolutely, and it is up to every parent involved to make sure this is not sweep under the carpet. The adults, I hope, take action on this very very agressively. 55cents on the dollar? That is not what the bidders meant to happen to their money. If something isn't done, I can assure you there will be a lack of bidders next year.

I would be glad to attend this meeting as a show of "strength in numbers". But the ones of us not active in this association do not know where the meetings are held. And I thought this was a La Porte kids association, so why is a woman from Deer Park treasurer?

The meetings are mostly always held at the corner of P Street and Lomax School Road at the old Lomax City Hall Building located next to the Lomax Arena. REal easy to find for those interested. They are the first thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. come with an open mind and not to judge those whose main interest is to help resolve this matter and move forward.
