Damn I even lived in La Porte for a about a year, and I never heard the story of Belle Gunness. I'll have to call my aunt and uncle and yell at em for this lol. I hope thos student at U of I crack this, what headlines it'll make, not to mention how good it will look on all of their resumes.

I haven't checked all the comments on the subject since January...how interesting to see what everyone is feeling and expressing about the horrible woman who was my great-grandmother's sister!

To those who say we should "let it lie", so to speak, how can I not write about this person discovered to be a close relative...and knowing that she did fake her death and live on, how can I not investigate further, to find out if she continued to kill. One person did express that she probably did, and I believe that is true.

Actually, I'm working on a theory that one of her identities was a woman in Phoenix, Arizona in the 20's who killed someone and had a similar M.O. and was witnessed leaving on a train with a big trunk. If anyone from Phoenix knows of this woman, please contact me at [email protected]

Right now I don't have a website for my book, which I have been researching and writing since 1994, however I can be e-mailed and I send out updates every once in awhile, if you want to be on my mailing list. I promise I won't poison you.

An update I can give right now is, that Andi Simmons says it looks like the DNA under the envelopes Belle sent to her unsuspecting victims, is damaged, and we will have to look at obtaining DNA from her sister's (my great-grandmother's) grave. Email me to keep posted. The book should be done in 2009 (my book, that is). And I plan to emphasise the victims lives, lives that were so sadly cut short by Belle.

There are several fundraisers in Indiana right now to raise enough money for headstones for some of the unknown victims. As a watercolor artist, I am selling prints of some of my paintings for this purpose.

I hope my book does receive interest as a movie, because I have some of the actors already picked out!
