Check out a bar in Blairstown. Butch and Cindy's They are selling a membership to a room off their bar and you can go in there and smoke real cigs. You won't be served or waited on while in this room but you can smoke. Is this legal?

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS OF SMOKING AND NICOTINE

Back to main page

Smoking lowers Parkinson's disease risk - More evidence that smoking fights Parkinson - "A new study adds to the previously reported evidence that cigarette smoking protects against Parkinson's disease. Specifically, the new research shows a temporal relationship between smoking and reduced risk of Parkinson's disease. That is, the protective effect wanes after smokers quit."
Impact of Smoking on Clinical and Angiographic Restenosis After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention – This large study shows yet another benefit of smoking. This time the benefit concerns restenosis, that is, the occlusion of coronary arteries. Smokers have much better chances to survive, heal and do well. Where is the press? Nowhere to be found, of course; we are talking about a significant positive about tobacco and smoking, which affects the health of people, don’t we? Well, come on! We are also talking about responsible media, here… people better increase their chances of death from cardiovascular disease then getting the idea that smoking may be good for them – a totally unacceptable paradox.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines paradox in these terms: "A statement or tenet contrary to received opinion or belief … as being discordant with what is held to be established truth, and hence absurd or fantastic". Since the benefits of smoking are too numerous and consistent to be attributable to error or random chance, it follows that the established truth asserting that smoking is the cause of (almost) all disease cannot be true – a reality that dramatically clashes with the gigantic corruption of public health, its pharmaceutical and insurance mentors, institutions and media. Therefore, it is constantly suppressed in the interest of public health, but not of the people.

Part of this on going dilemma with the smokeless cigarettes is that the FDA has not officially approved them and have even gone as far as to put out a national warning until more test are done because they have found two of the same ingredients as found in tobacco cigarettes. How do you really gauge this since a standard cigarette has approx 2000 chemicals (I have heard of many estimates...) If cigarettes are legal and approved by the FDA then these smokeless cigarettes should certainly fall under the same category and have the same restrictions with the warning and age requirement to purchase. I do know it has helped thousand of ex-smokers get off of tobacco all together and with advent of these new "smokers lung" recovery drugs and naturopathic remedies it at least give smokers a chance to get back to a normal healthy life. You can purchase a affordable smokeless cigarette starter kit at supercig.com and see for yourself.

According to a study made in Washington, all three groups, the previous smokers, current smokers and non smokers, of more than 2,000 seniors were compared to show a link between smoking and the speed at which participants walked .Previous smokers easily outpaced current smokers in physical activity, suggesting that giving up such bad habits can positively impact a senior’s health later in life.
Eliminating bad habits such as poor food choices and lack of exercise - which can lead to weight gain or poor muscle condition - has been an ongoing struggle for seniors. According to Alison Moore, member of American Geriatrics Society (AGS), the most important part of successfully changing bad habits to go into the transformation with a positive attitude.
There are other alternative, as what they said. The better alternative to smoking.

These new drug delivery devices are NOT smokeless! To claim that they are is a blatant LIE! This is more criminal activity from the tobacco pushers and their "friends". These new cancerettes release toxic chemicals and poisons, just as do other forms of the lighted tobacco drug. Ban these drug delivery devices and BAN THE TOBACCO DRUG, NOW!

Tommie -

The smokeless cigarettes are in fact smokeless. In order to achieve smoke, one must burn something. This is called combustion. The smokeless cigarettes or "electronic cigarettes" use vaporization. Vaporization does not include combustion.

The electronic cigarette does not in fact release toxic chemicals and poisons. Actually, many studies have been done on the inhalation of propylene glycol (the majority base of the liquid used to create the vapor), which is found in every day products from toothpaste to fog machines and the EPA found that:

"Upon reviewing the available toxicity information, the Agency has concluded that there are no endpoints of concern for oral, dermal, or inhalation exposure to propylene glycol. This conclusion is based on the results of toxicity testing of propylene glycol in which dose levels near or above testing limits were employed in experimental animal studies and no significant toxicity observed."

"A review of the available data has shown propylene glycol to be negative for carcinogenicity in studies conducted up to the testing limit doses established by the Agency; therefore, no further carcinogenic analysis is required."

Did you also know that studies have been done since the 1940's on propylene glycol? One study was done on children. In this study, they pumped propylene glycol mist into a ward of sick children and found that the rate of chest/respiratory infection was 85% less than in the "control" ward.

Did you also know that the current FDA approved nicotine therapies such as the Gum, the Patch and the Inhaler contain the same, if not more carcinogens than the smokeless cigarettes known as electronic cigarettes? Should those approved products be banned?

If you believe those should be banned as well, then would it be safe to assume that you aren't necessarily against smoking, but against nicotine? If that is the case, then caffeine should be banned as well considering it has the same affects on the human body as nicotine does, except that it is sold openly to our children and our delivery mechanisms for caffeine have not been as notoriously bad for us as a burning cigarette.

Did you also know that many of the groups who are against the electronic cigarette are also funded heavily by Pfizer, the maker of the nicotine inhaler, the gum, the patch and the nasal spray? Did you also know that the FDA does not get a majority of it's funding from tax dollars, but from the very companies who wish to see their products approved? Like Pfizer for instance.

And now, the government has given the FDA control over tobacco as well so now that the tobacco industry and the pharmaceutical industries will be paying for the light bill and those high salaries at the FDA, does one honestly believe the FDA has the best interest of the people at heart anymore?

Considering the tobacco industry and the pharmaceutical industries did not put the smokeless cigarette onto the market, one could easily figure out who is really against the electronic cigarette and why. Unfortunately, many small, American businesses brought this product to Smokers, not tobacco companies or pharmaceutical companies.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
