First of all you dumb ass, you spelled it wrong. Second of all I own 2 restaurants here, and second of all Cleveland, Tx. is a small city, but I have the restaurants in a bigger city near by.

My daughter lives in San Benito and I visit her sometimes. I love the Valley and San Benito. Yes, it is like another country; one that I love and enjoy visiting. If I could, I would spend my winters there. I go to the fruit stand every time I am there and go to a bakery there for the best pumpkin empanadas to be found anywhere. The people who live in San Benito are friendly and nice. I live close to a large city in Michigan and San Benito is a much nicer place to be. Of course, no place is perfect, but San Benito is a great place.

San Benito has become an embarrassment. Just look at the head lines from the S.B. News Paper. What's more insulting is that people are seeing the corruption and they rather look away. From the police department to the city hall.. pathetic.

I liked San Benito, if you want corruption head to Primera. The old police chief there, Roberto Silva, is as corrupt as they come. He files false charges against people that he doesn't like. He actually forces them to move with police harassment. I know because he done that to me and my wife. Simply because we were white. I never had a problem such as this any where I have lived. And I have lived and worked all over the world.

People are always leaving comments about how san benito is such an ugly city and how corrupt it is and how there is trash everywhere. My Question is where in san benito are you describing? What do you have against the city? I have lived here all my life and sure the city does have its problems but what city doesn't? If you think about it San Benito is not even close to being the worst city in the valley as far as being ugly. Mabye the politics I will admit but thats being taken care of at the present time.

I used to live right on the edge of the city line (Reata apartments, near the VFW and Blue Marlin). We shopped at the San Benito Wal Mart all the time out of convenience. Also went to th Blockbuster for DVDs (Before we got Netflix). Checked out the Whalen's once when we were lookin' for a couch (Ended up buying at the Lacks branch that later closed. The building is still boarded up...). Frankly, with all of the historic buildings around, there are quite a few cool things that "Could" be done. As it stands now, things just look pretty run down and outright scary. We used to still go to the post office there after we moved, but my wife prefers the first street branch (Harlingen) now.
