Does Mrs. Garcia guarantee that she can keep illegals and drug smugglers from using her property to enter the US. If yes, then she needs no fence. I for one don't think she can make that promise so I say let's build the fence first and later develop a controlled access to the river. Of course, this would be a common sense approach rather than an emotional one!

That's exactly the problem with most U.S. policy decisions made in Washington - deal with the resulting problems after the fact. Mr. Donah, I believe you to be part of the reason that our government makes so many bad decisions such as the one in question here. Building a border fence may help control migration flows, but the negative side-effects to such a horrific construction project would more than double its positive ones. Not to mention, you actually think it will stop determined migrants? People (like you) in this country need to wake up and become realists. The best solution to this "problem" would be for our impotent government to come up with a guest-worker solution such as those programs as the Bracero Program, which we abandoned for no real good reason.

Daily Horoscope for December 25

Despite the frazzled nature of the past few days, it looks like being a fabulous Christmas Day. You're all doing your best to sparkle and entertain, with one person being the star of the show. To put the icing on the cake, you might get a surprise phone call from someone who lives a long way away and who you weren't expecting to hear from.
