There has never before been a drive by shooting that I was aware of on any other street I have lived on.
Drive by shooting yesterday around 6:30 pm. right outside my apartment home in Garden Grove, CA. I suspect this insident was gang related. My 9 yr old son was playing outside on the sidewalk at the moment within 10-15 meters of the shooting and only a couple feet from the street itself as the car went by him. He was confused and did not know why his friends around him were running.
There were about 6 distinctive gun shots. I looked outside and saw parents yelling and hurriedly gathering thier kids. I screamed out my son's name a couple times. Confused, my son followed my voice and was relieved to see him coming towards the house.
Saw 2 teens run away from the crime scene cutting through the back of the apartment complex.
I went outside along with other neighbors. Neighborhood preteen girl was walking home with mother and siblings and described a dark blue mini van and a man with a grey shirt in the vehicle shot at the boys on the street.
No one around me had called the police in fear of gang retaliation. I retrieved my cell from inside the house and called about 10 min after I heard shots. The police came out to perform thier investigation.
What disturbs me the most aside from the fact that my son was outside during this dangerous ordeal is that no one in my neighborhood had bothered to call authorities. These people live in fear of the gangs and instead of acting to find ways they could make thier community more safe, they prefer to not get involved and just watch from the sidelines. People in my neighborhood seem to have little faith in the law enforcement to be able to take control of these issues, so they don't bother.

Edit: If you were in this situation, wouldn't you want to get the police out to your neighborhood to perform their investigation?

The shooting happened on Morningside Ave. off of Clinton St.

If anyone out there know the people involved in this event, could you please tip the Garden Grove Police?

Not all Mexican people are BAD. I don't know where you got that from. I don't think they were all Mexicans. My boy is half Mexican, so you better watch what you say.

Thats right you little p*ssy, we are bad. And if you dont watch yourself your next to be shot and possibly even killed. Because we dont give a f*ck about going to jail. Thats our business. Thats what we do. Now we all know you wouldnt say that in public, so you have to hide behind your little laptop to talk your sh*t.
