LM Res with teenagers

Whittier, CA

#1 Sep 3, 2008
I saw mention of Dep Juarez on another thread and wondered what everyone else's experience has been with the man. I have teenagers and they and all of their friends know him. Personally it seems to me that he targets the kids with their raised cars, tinted windows and driving 4 miles over the speed limit. Illegal maybe, but serious? No. There is real crime that needs addressed in the city and it won't happen from him staking out the schools and back streets. And he leaves the kids with a poor impression of law enforcement in my opinion.

LM Res. Your not going to like this. And I personally don't like it either. As of about a year ago Dep Juarez was assigned as a no-call traffic enforcement officer. If that is still the case when he logs on at the start of shift he marks a little box that takes him off the dispatchers screen for calls. He can do what he likes all day as long as he is productive. Commercial enforcement is part of his duties but how often have you seen him in a jumpsuit inspecting trucks.

Deputy Juarez, along with the rest of the law enforcement people in La Mirada get paid to do a job. That job is to enforce the law, no matter how minor the infraction. Those same people that drive around over the speed limit and with illegal tinted windows are often the same ones that hit kids crossing the street or committing other crimes. When that happens, you will be saying, where is Deputy Juarez when we needed him. If you don't want him to pull you over, then follow the law. If you want to see Deputy Juarez inspect commercial vehicles, just hang out near Trojan Way and Alondra Bl., you will see him there.

I have no problem with him being by the book. But this man is a rude SOB.

I saw him pull over my elderly nieghbor, over by lemon street. apparently she was speeding.

When she got nervous because she could not find her insurance card, he started to get very rude with her. That made her more nervous and she started speaking spanish too him, and he told her in a very rude manner, not to speak to him in spanish.

Just do your job and don't be rude. this is the sweetest lady i have ever met. If I ever see him off duty, i will tell him that he owes her an appology. no need to be rude.

This officer is excellent. Exactly what our community needs.

Be thankful that you have someone keeping an eye on your teens when you can't.

With the start of school this "no nonsense" type of enforcment is precisely the type of message that needs to be sent to prevent another vehicular tragedy to LMHS students.

If I see him. I would like to buy him lunch and say THANK YOU!

Juarez is a lot of things, but he is not rude. In fact I have seen him go out of his way to be polite.

juarez is a jerk, no ifs ands or buts, and while it is his job to give tickets. it does not give him the right to waste all his time on tinted windows and blue headlights....cops like him are the reason shootings have been happening in la mirada....why? BECAUSE ALL OUR COPS ARE GIVING TINTED WINDOW TICKETS WHILE OUR WALLS ARE BEING TAGGED AND OUR RESIDENTS BEING SHOT AT!!!

Give me a break. Crap is happening in our community because crime is increasing all over, mainly due to gangs. Juarez does one thing: enforce the Vehicle Code. Don't want a ticket, don't break the law. Juarez protects us from kids like yours who have way too much vehicle for their age and a set of parents who think their kids can do no wrong.

By the way look and see how much the City actually enforces and prosecutes taggers, you may be surprised.

He's an idiot. A buddy of mine went to HS with him and said he was a dweeb back then too. What really makes me think he is an idiot is some years ago he pulled over a 7 month pregnant woman, who happened to be driving a new car. The car still had paper plates on it. Because she was hispanic, he couldn't believe that she and her husband had just bought this car. He made her get out of the car, and stand in the bike lane on LM Blvd just north of Alondra, until he could finish writing his ticket. As if some pregnant woman about to pop is a threat to him. The kicker of it is that the woman's dad was a deputy and I know that she was respectful to him, he was just being a jerk to her. The city didn't get their money though. She went to court while he was on vacation and no one showed up to contest her not guilty plea. He's a putz.

Uhh did you forget that he is Latino (not hispanic thank you) also? It cracks me up when people have to go back to high school to validate what they think of a person now. I'm sure you were the big man (or woman) on campus and that has just carried through life. You know, I am not defending Juarez as much as I am defending LE. Nobody ever thinks they are guilty (and there are always worse crimes being committed) and there is always two sides to a story. Are there idiot cops? Of course! Are there idiot citizens, absolutely.

I like him, I got 2 tickets from him - one for barely tinted windows and one for having no front license plate. But I still see lots of blacked out windows driving around here, aren't there any other cops around to care enough to give them tickets? Apparently not. That is the frustrating part, there are so many cars which have tons of flaws, how about all the people who blow the stop sign down by Behringer.

Juarez is a rude person, I have never seen a more inappropriate police officer in my life.
He let's friends of his go away, but when he has to hit his quota for the month, he tickets people for no real reason.
He needs to go.

Latino/Hispanic, tell me the real difference besides title only. Kind of like black and african-american.. of course, then there are the black hispanics or would that be latino. Either way, he was profiling and discriminating.. doesn't matter what his race is. Living LM didn't say he was racist, simply an idiot like most people I know call him, that was discriminating because he put someone in a box based on appearance. That includes the deputies that work out of Norwalk station. He's a no call car because he likes to work alone giving tickets and no one ever wanted to work with him. He doesn't write reports, he doesn't do traffic accidents, and he makes sure he goes home on time without doing much of truly anything throughout the day except scribble in a little cite book and make sure that he gets his meals for free or discounted. His saying was "If they don't pop (give food free) I don't stop (eat there)." I'm sure he's still the same way, even more so now in his green pajamas.
