BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. "JEWVIRTZMAN", YOU'RE A REAL CLASS ACT. LET ME KNOW WHO YOU ARE SO I AND THE REST OF MY JEWISH FREINDS KIDS CAN KICK YOUR ASS. OH WAIT THAT WOULD MEAN YOU CAN'T HIDE BEHIND YOUR KEYBOARD AND ACT TOUGH FOR YOUR COMPUTER SCREEN. PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT RESPOND THAT WAY ARE SO INSECURE AND LOST IN LIFE.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. G at LMHS and he is one of the best teachers I've ever seen. His mix of humor, insight, and knowledge kept the students engaged the entire class period. That's rare in many classrooms. Truly one special man who deserves a big pat on the back.

Mr. G was one of my teachers at LMHS (grad 1991) He always pushed us to think deeper and clearly. Pushed us past our comfort zones. There was always lively debate! Thanks Mr. G for preparing us for the world. I'm a college graduate with a teaching degree, mom to 3 wonderful kids and married to a man who values me for ME and is a great dad.

It's a very good article. Bruce Gevirtzman was a very intelligent and broad minded english teacher. He researched on teenager’s activity like How they talk thinks and grows.
At last he decided to write a book of his researched experiences on teenagers.

Mr. G. has insights as can only be gleaned by a kind of voyeuristic journey into the realm of youth.
His particular forte seems to be in grooming youngsters who suffer a parental void and engaging them in "intimate confidences". His dedication is not limited to the classroom as he spent inordinate hours accompanying his subjects in extracurricular activities off-campus 'filling parental voids' with his broad minded, sensitive themes.

Undoubtedly, the crown in his research methodology was his marriage to a student, she reaching legal age and he almost 50, she briefly the girlfriend of the boy whose tragic death in the back of a pickup truck is chronicled in his book.

This book has insights into young and vulnerable minds as seldom experienced by most normal mature adults.

Mr. G. enjoys the respect of decades of students because he is indeed 'so cool'; a barrier breaker and an ally in an alien world

Just finished reading it - thanks to this thread.

This book is wonderful. Any counsel for previous civil litigates against the NLMUSD needs to read B.G.'s story. Like a fine debater he has covered his references better than a hired P.I.

Good for Mr. G. He's pretty crafty when it comes to writing. Hope he does well with the book deals. I'm planning to buy them all.

Another book by a local author was Dr. Shaw's from the district office - "Jack and Jill and Why They Kill" appropriate subject for his area.

An Intimate Understanding of American Teenagers

Gleaned from decades of grooming young confidences and concealed erections in a kind of legal but perverted voyeurism.
