For the younger folk, you have to understand the American political process. It's quite simple. Republicans generally make sense, but eventually act like arrogant aggressive a-holzz if in power long enough. The public overreacts and votes in the Democrats. After a much shorter time, they again realize, though the Repubs are a-holz, the dems are insane, and back to the Repubs they go, saying "I'd rather deal with the aggressive a-holzz, than the insane cat ladies and p-whipped men, who are also crazy.

Rinse and repeat, till the day you die.

You've now earned your Political Science degree. Go out there and shake 'em up.

VOX POPULI. The only winner here tonight is Larry Tramutola who was paid $80,000 of taxpayer dollars for his bad political advice. Now the Dist. will spend more money on December 29 for another election? Mismanagement, mismanagement, mismanagement.

City Councilwoman Gerrie Schipskie supported Measure T and will be summarily dismissed from office in April 2010 like Measure T was tonight.

They are coming for you Gerrie!

By "wasteful spending" I assume you mean custodial services on a daily (or in some cases, every other day) basis, having fewer than 35 students in a classroom, textbooks that aren't nearly completely destroyed, and library and computer access. THAT is what is being cut these days in education.I wish I lived & taught in the world some of you people think you live in.
Some of you "no" voters on Measure T should really spend some time to get to know your local school, and see all of this "waste" that you imagine is happening in effect. Then come back on here & talk about how schools don't need money.

I agree. Instead of getting rid of hard working custodians, helpful librarians, cutting the availability of computers, and throwing aides to disabled students under the bus, why doesn't $$$ Big School $$$ just axe some of the fat cat teachers, overpaid and under worked administrators, and indolent "out of touch" 60s era professors?

You want a voucher, LBC ? If you're unhappy with the public school system, write a flipping check and send your brood to school on your own dime; otherwise just be happy with what you've got. There are plenty of taxpayers out here that keep pouring money into the system, yet we have no children - think about that.

You are now here by prohibited from using the phrase "$$$ Big School $$$." You repeat this over and over again in almost every post that it has lost all meaning to any rational person. While I feel that most of the points you make are pure rubbish, you do occassionally make a few valid points. However, your constant anti-government/school/teacher comments reflect your lack of knowledge on how to truly make a difference/change to fix what's wrong with our current education system. Yes there are fat cat teachers and overpaid and under worked administrators, and indolent out of touch 60s era professors...all who should be removed from their positions effective immediately...I'm totally with you there! But c'mon Ronald...when was the last time you set foot in one of our local schools to see what's really going on there. Class sizes increasing, computer labs closed, P.E./music programs abandoned, teaching materials shortage...I've never seen administrators, teachers, and students do more with less! It's time for you to "grab a mop!" Let me know when you have some free time and I'll set up a trip to a local school for you to see the real faces of the individuals who you always throw your mindless drivel at. I'm waiting...

With the defeat of measure T, the district now has the political cover it needs to eliminate class size reduction in K - 3. Next year those classes will go from 20 per class to 30 per class. It also means hundreds of elementary teachers will be let go. It is the only way the district can plug a 90 million dollar hole. So when people complain at board meetings about the cuts that are coming the board can blame voters. The district knew measure T would NEVER get a 2/3 vote when they put it on the ballot. They just needed its defeat for political cover.

Why should one more dime be spent on schools that are "trying" to educate ILLEGALS/ANCHOR Babies that shouldn't be here, and THUGS that don't want to be educated. That's about all that's left in these school's. ILLEGALS/ANCHOR BABIES need to GO HOME and get educated themselves with "their" country's taxpayer dollars.NOT "OURS" I see who is in the school's now.I don't even recognize this state anymore. I am disgusted on how we have stopped enforcing our laws here.. Again..not one more dime,HELL NO..The school's can rot in hell before I agree with more money being spent on Illegals/Anchor Babies. This is the only way I have of SOME sort of control. And also you know where the greedy teachers unions can go while they're at it too.Bloodsucker teachers.. I refuse to pretend that everything is all peachy, LIBERALS!

How about we end this government socialism altogether??? I don't have no damn kids, so why do my tax dollars have to go to educating yours? If you can't afford to educate them yourself, you shouldn't have had them in the first place!

I wish I had. Never seen so many adults and teenagers (none of whom live anywhere in my neighborhood) with no costume more or less demanding candy on Sat. night. Though I had to give credit to the guy pushing his two kids (again none in costume) in the Target shopping cart, I'm sure they were able to score alot of free candy (all of which was 50% off the following day at Ralphs) that night. BTW, you are pretty stu.pid if you missed the point of my comment, it wasn't about kids, it was about taxpayers subsidizing private school education. Doh.
