The BEST Mexican food in La Mirada is Maris's Mexican food. Located on Santa Gertrudis and Imperial in the old Ralphs shopping center. The prices are good and the food is very good.

Monster sushi is Awesome! It looks like nothing on the outside but its incredible The prices are average however portions are huge and fresh. Never smell any fishy smell.

El Ranchito is best..but in La Habra. Marissa's is good but customer service is lacking. They are slow and some of the staff unfriendly. I've been there 1/2 hour before closing time and they wouldn't seat us because they 'were closing'. I also didn't appreciate that they closed down in honor of the LA Illegal Immigrant protest. El Ranchito is the way to go....

Marisa's food is better then El Ranchito's food and Marisa's supports our local sports! We need to support our city!

Sorry but they don't support all local sports..just those that their kids are involved in. Actually our attempts our sponsorship have been ignored...we usually hear they have to wait until the manager gets in and I guess that never happens. El Ranchito is a far better sponsor in my opinion.

Has El Ranchito ever sponsored a team for you??? Marisa's has for me, so maybe they can only sponsor so many teams per year! Yes, they do have young child and most likely sponsor those teams first. I think you would do the same. I sponsor my children's teams first! The bottom line is that the food a Marisa's is great!

Well as a matter of fact yes. El Ranchito sponsors at least two teams at the high school. And if what you say is true, I can accept that...but have the decently to tell me instead of continuously putting me off and giving the appearance that you are just not interested in helping. Only thing better about Marisa's is the green chile. Everything else, El Ranchito is best.

I guess everyone has different taste buds, so people will have to try both and see what they like! I think it sad that La Mirada gives up alot of tax dollars to other cities, so I try to support local a business when i can!

It is not about a sponsorship. It is about good food, but I think we should support our city if you can. The food is great, so try it and you be the judge.

Exactly. I lived in LM from 1977 to 1989 before Marisas opened. Back then the mexican restaurant on LM Blvd by Leffingwell was the best. I think it was called Los Portales or Mexico 1900.
