I'm a teacher and these men (and women) make me sick. They make all of us look bad. There are MANY outstanding and law abiding teachers out there. Something needs to be done at Helix High. What's this make - 4 of these sickos? Send all these perverts to prison and throw away the damn key!!

Did anyone else notice, this student was also involved in a case with another teacher?

I'm not saying that to discredit her claim or anything. Just found it interesting is all.

Yes, I wondered about that too? Coincidence? It's just odd the same girl is tied to this case.

Again, I want to be clear that I'm not saying she was at fault in anyway.

One explanation could be he took advantage of her emotions when he found out about the first case.

Either way, I hope she gets any help she needs in dealing with this.

How dare you call the student a VICTIM??? From what my child says- the girl had a reputation of flirting in the first place and that the "victim" would hand all over Mr. Wenham and that he would look annoyed and distracted on often occasions. Where are her parents in all this? Why did they not pay closer attention to her behavior? Please, obviously the girl is a product of poor parenting! Mr. Wenham has been a pillar in my childs world with encouragment and motivation. He has helped my child achieve goals with support and guidance. I do not approve of what he has done- but think about the skeletons in YOUR closet! We thrive off of other peoples trash and downfalls- without looking closer to see the entire story. This makes me sick- his life is over and family devastated by a girl who's path of destruction has now affected two families and their children- much less the lives of students who used Jeff Wenham as a role model to shape their lives..Jeff Wenham is a victim as well. He made a bad mistake no doubt- but I appreciate so much how he has changed my childs life for the better that I hope he can look forward and hear this! And in the mean time...men over 40 need to know that there is an 18 year old out there wanting to destroy your family...

This girl and her family obviously have serious issues. Anyone associated with the school knows who she is and she exactly what she was doing with Wilcox. I find it very hard to believe Jeff did anything inappropriate with this girl or any student. The family is probably hoping for a big settlement from the district

you people are immature- the girl needs to be put out to dry. she digusted most of the kids in the first place after they would see her flaunting herself to him. her parents should have given her a spanking a looooong time ago. the should be ashamed. if it was my daughter, i would never speak to her again. i hope mr. wenham can move forward with all this.. and forget about this beast of a girl and how much his students appreciate him.

Well, just an observation here... my niece is a junior in high school (not gonna mention which one) but when my sister and I picked her up from school I was appalled at the way some of the students were dressed, especially the females. It was like they were dressed to go clubbing in the Gas Lamp. Point is the way these girls looked and acted I wouldn't put it past them if they flirted a bit too much in or out of school. This goes without saying that any faculty member at any given school should never ever be tempted to get too familiar with any student. They're children not adults. It's ridiculous, immoral and insane.

Grrrrrrrr! this girl is making me irritated! You KNOW what you're doing when you're 17! Don't give me all this crap. I bet you that if you were to ask her right before she agreed to it "do you think this is right?.. do you think your parents would let you do this?" she would answer NO but still do it anyways. She CHOSE to do it. She knows the difference b/w right and wrong. Why do you think some 17 year olds (and even younger) are tried as adults??? The teachers were OBVIOUSLY at fault too but so was she and it's unfair that all the legal punishment goes towards them.

Mr. Wilcox was one of my teachers. He was a great guy who taught the class and respected everyone I knew. My parents believed him to be a good teacher and kind man as well. NEVER in our minds did we think this would happen with him. I know people who recently graduated from Helix and said that this girl really put herself out there and would strive for male attention. It is in my opinion that she made the first move. Granted i'm not condoning what Mr. Wilcox did. What he did was definately wrong and I believe he should be punished. Just saying that this girl was a slut and deserves to be severely punished as well.

I agree - the press rush these stories because of their sensationalism, but lookk at the lives that are being destroyed. It's very hard to bounce back from something this and the DA's office hasn't even investigated yet. Didn't LMPD take into consideration if the same girl is involved that maybe she should also be investigated? It's very convenient that "daddy" waited to come forward until after she graduated and received her scholarships....hmmm....
I certainly hope her parents get her some help before she goes off to college - think of all the damage she could cause there

From the rumors surrounding "the girl" and from what I know of her and the second teacher involved, I cannot believe that this is true until Jeff Wenham is actually charged with these crimes and until we actually hear the evidence. I find it suspicious that the La Mesa Police Dept. would allow this information to come out in spite of the fact that Wenham has not been arrested. Every other teacher or faculty member involved in a sex scandal at Helix was "outed" through their arrests and the subsequent reports from San Diego news outlets. Why is it so different this time?

And if you were this girl's parents, you should be completely ashamed of your daughter, regardless of the actions of the teachers involved, and you should be ashamed of yourself for a whole list of things. The Palumbo case was at least reported to the police by the girl's father. None of the other cases were brought to the attention of the police by the parents, save for this last suspicious report. Are these parents trying to save face in what has to be the most twisted fashion ever, in accusing another teacher of harming their precious child? Are these parents that clueless? Are these parents so unaware of what has to be their own parenting flaws that they must put on the charade that their daughter was the ultimate victim? Are these parents not ashamed that this second case brings a lot of questions to the character and moral compass of the girl herself? Obviously they do not know their own daughter or the flaws in their parenting techniques.

Technically speaking we should avoid treating "the girl" as the suspect because is a crime involving unlawful sexual relationships, but I cannot view it any other way. Two teachers and one student. If this second case is true, how likely is it that two teachers would choose the same student in which to engage in some sort of sexual relationship? I am disgusted not at Helix, for having the misfortune of these events bring the school's name into a horrible light, but by this girl. The teachers should have known better, but she should have, too. Being younger than eighteen does not make you a complete naive fool, which seems to be her parents' argument. It is an insult to all level headed, rational, and intelligent teenagers everywhere. In fact, that this girl is a Helix graduate is an insult to Helix alumni everywhere.

yes, funny how the media hasn't smeared her picture all over the internet and 6 o'clock news- remember, isn'he 18? i bet anything they want money from this. see how it feels to have your family violated and exposed to the world. read her headline on her myspace- all the kids have been telling me about the curse words she uses (what a lady she is)- the asb kids are devastated and will need far more help/guidance through this. the tears from them will take a long time to dry..jeff wenham, if you read this- all the asb kids and me a a parent- we are behind you 100%. we appreciate you and hope that your family heals from this. we hope you stay strong-

The media said that Jeff wenham engaged in sexual acts and he was also arrested- can you imagine the rumor mill? He did not have sex with her and he was not arrested- get the facts straight morons. I still would like to see him work at Helix- he's actually one of the better people for the job. I hope tis girl doesn' sleep with her future father in law- looks like she has it out for married older men...hmm, I hope she keeps her vampy claws away from my husband. If Jeff doesn't come back, then I vote Mr. Stone for the job- he wouldn't put up with this crap~ he would tell her parents what she was doing. If I was Jeff, I would sue the media for misinformation-oh, never mind- the girls parents would sue for his share.
