Thank God!!!! On the phone with my sister now. The house phone is working, can make out going calls but can't receive in coming calls. Went to go get ice from HEB in Texas City but the line was unbelievable. Looting has been going on. They don't have a generator but one of their neighbors does so they gave him some gas and he gave them some ice. Found a bread truck selling bread and were able to get that. The roof is off of the LaMarque High school and they have 4" of water inside. Curfew is 5pm to 5am. Not sure how much good it will do. No one going door to door to check on anyone. My sister's husband job was broken into, he works at a Mobil in LaMarque on Hwy 6.
I'm glad you got in touch with your family. Thanks to everyone who took the time to write comments... gives us an idea about how things are going over there. God Bless

I just talked with my Mother & sister on their cell phone. They are in Texas City on 11th Ave. N. They do not have electricity but do have water and gas. They did not have flooding or house damage, just tree limbs, leaves and such. They said some of the stores in Texas city have eletricity now. My brother-in-law was able to drive from Dickenson to Texas City so some of the roads are good. I hope this eases some people's mind a little about that area. God bless you all!

I haven't heard from my brother- he rode out the storm in his home on Meadow Lane (a couple of blocks behind the I45 McDonald's). No news and his phone's down. Any news on this area?
Thanks a lot- I hope that everything ends up well for everyone.

Linda it is Daniel from the Club Management. We have not heard any good news nor bad about the property. From many fly over videos I have seen I have yet to see our property. We are hoping to hear something soon and/or get back on the island to assess the damage.

I have lots of family in La Marque, Texas City. Does anyone know if the power is coming back on in La Marque yet? What about the area of Texas City where the Fork and Spoon Cafe is?
