Just wondering

Dear people of La Grange, You can all give yourselves a big pat on the back. I check out the topix in different towns where my husband is going to work.I have never seen such a nice Topix. Most are full of the stupidist stuff you have ever read. My own hometown is so rude and full of gossip. This is a breath of fresh air. Thanks for that. Now, can anyone tell me about your town? Do you have a Wal-mart? Best campground, How close to the gulf? Is this a small town? We have 7,000 here.Is this a friendly town? Any info would help.

Wal Mart - Yes
Campground - If you are talking about travel trailers, Campbell's on 77N.
Not terrible close to the gulf. Probably hour and a half away.
Population is around 4000.

Friendly? Well, that depends...
The area is German and Czech. They tend to be a little wary of new people. Not rude, but not very welcoming either. That is slowly changing as the older population retires and the younger people open businesses and work in the existing ones.

Not a lot to do there, though. Some attractions, lots of antiques. Not much to choose from in the dining category. Nice scenery and lots of old buildings and homes to see.
