I'm just wondering what exactly the UPC party DOES intent on doing? All of the literature I received(which was plenty)referenced a lot of what would NOT be done and a lot of slamming of other parties but not much of what is planned to advance our community. true, I've only been aresident for a couple of years but I appreciated the changes that were happening and fear that those efforts will now come to a stand still. Yes, I've heard the "Getty stories" and quite frankly they don't make me feel all that great and yes, the Task story isn't great either (although, it seemed strategically placed to time with the election, if someone really was concerned they should have spoken up say....in July!) But as a soon to be mom, I'm concerned with the future! what will this community hold? I see lots of possibilites especially if we could get that quarry filled in, that's a lot of space that could be used to move Lyons into a more vibrant place! I'm proud to live here but I think we need to be known for more than 1 tower, a big hole in the ground, all of the strip joints in our past and corruption in our politics!

The Lyons Police Department is comprised of the Chief of Police,$100k+ two (2) Commanders, 100k+, Five (5) Sergeants,80k eighteen (18) Patrol Officers, Minimum 53K, 6 patrol officers made over 100K with OT, one (1) Records Clerk $$$, one (1) Communications Supervisor,$$$$ four (4) Communications Operators,$$$$$$ Why are they so unhappy? Because they did not get a basement? Please did they not get a nice police station, look at all the surrounding communities stations. I am sure they would like the place. They were made they did not get a shooting range? Why could they be so unhappy, well maybe the contract has not been settled. Will Krueger go ahead and give them a big raise? Is it because her son is a police officer so her heart bleeds for them? I wish the police would stay out of politics and do their jobs, that they get paid for. Well mrs. Krueger, I think they make enough, times are tough, the police station needs to tighten it's belt, and stop buying favors from you. Police contract was up in I think December, and has not been settled. The current board is not happy with it obviously. I think that is called patronage.

Patti Krueger has the support of the Lyons Police because she has had a "special" relationship with the police chief. The chief has used his "friendship" with Krueger to run the police dept independently from city authorities and has been disciplined by the former city manager for insubordination. Krueger ran interference for the chief while a trustee. Dave Visk may have made a mistake with his comments, but always ran the Village as a competent administrator and believed strongly in the elected government controlling the village work force for the good of the people, including exercising proper oversight over the police and its chief.

By the way I'm not a supporter of Patty or the Police Chief. I just think that Lyons has a bunch of residents that should mind their own business and like to hear themselves talk. So, if you can't bring anything positive or constructive to improve issue in Lyons then just shut the hell up.

Lyons village government has always been crooked, and likely will remain that way for a long time. Patrick Fitzgerald and the Feds need to take a long hard look at all the political players in this village.

Yes he is Nancy. I went to high school with him and his older brother. The whole family is liars, cheats, and clowns. You should try to talk to people that went to Morton High school with them or people that help with Getty Sr's campaign and never saw a dime of what was to be paid for helping.

nancy, mybe there's somthing in the water they also voted for a bunch of thieves who had there campain office in the developers headquarters. They also created 4 T.I.F.'S IN WHICH tif 4 is broke and have to borrow money from tif 3 because the new sidewalk & parking lot can't be finished at Culvers.
