Are you tired of the economic repression that goes on daily in Campbell County? Are you tired of this county being nothing more than a retirement community, where it seems like the monied control things? Are you tired of a "county commission" that, for all intents and purposes does nothing to improve the lives of the people in Campbell County economically? Are you tired of having to drive into Anderson or Knox County to have a decent meal at a nice, yet inexpensive restaurant? Are you tired of the abysmal educational conditions in this county?
Then I would ask you to boycott Campbell County businesses for a period of one week. You, the people of Campbell County have the ability to make your voices heard loud and clear that you are sick and tired of the "good ol boy network"--and all you have to do is exercise your ability to buy your needed products and services in the next county. No one can make you purchase your gas at a gas station in Campbell County and no one can make you go to the grocery stores in this county or buy your building materials here...YOU, the people of Campbell County have the ability to change things simply by refusing to buy anything in this county for a period of one week...then telling the County Commission and your "county leaders" that you will CONTINUE to buy elsewhere until real effort is made to improve the lives and conditions for the PEOPLE in Campbell County--and that includes more than just the monied or the business owners...that means EVERYONE...
So I ask everyone to boycott Campbell County for one week to start and to be prepared to boycott longer until the monied and the "leaders" hear our voices loud and clear that we simply won't tolerate the economic repression any longer..
Boycott Campbell County.

Thing is? The vast majority of CC is unable - whether too drugged up, or not drugged up but just too broke due to economic downfall and jobs too scarce - to GET out of county to shop etc.

I've been doing all of my business out of county for at least 3 yrs now. The 'monied' here are the corrupted office holders, and their 'pals' such as the monied slumlords et al in all other positions that control but are not political, are all slithering around in their snake pit from where they control.

Now... WHY do the people here keep voting in the same trash to KEEP it the way it is? Or? Do they? My guess is because the druggies and those that PROFIT most from druggies, and the LE et al that protect these monied pals, aren't about to let ANY thing change THEIR status quo, including any voters: The elections 'winners' are bought and paid for = FIXED.

Just the same though... I do ALL business out-of-county and online. Just because the trash OWN CC doesn't mean you still have to FEED them any more then what they are already stealing.

We as a county will never change. Stop trying or move out.

In order to move we have to be able to SELL our properties at better then 10 cents on the dollar of what they SHOULD be worth if it weren't for these apt complexes, and slumlords that bought detached homes and turned them into drug dumps, real estate that USED to be nice.. until their owners sold out to either of those, and now...

Nevermind. Useless. We're STUCK, period. You expect decent homeowners to smile about it? Say it to their faces. Just be prepared for their responses.:) Have a nice day.

Then you and everyone in Campbell County with this inordinate desire to remain economically depressed while refusing to stand up and help YOURSELVES deserve everything this county and the monied do... they could turn this county into a trash ridden, graffiti covered, gang ridden slum and none of you would lift a hand to say anything...you deserve it.

Great idea, but a boycott needs to be made public to be effective with a visable leader. Not just screaming your distaste loudly on TOPIX and ignorantly shopping outside of the community. Otherwise, not "buying local" will just deteriorate the local social-economic situation. A lot of local businesses in the county are small mom and pop operations that provide employment for even more economically distressed individuals. Giving Knox County all your business might be the snobbish thing to do, but its not very astute or forward thinking. "Buy Local" has a lot more economic power than an ill planned and feeble minded boycott.

who is this 'visible leader' around here supposed to be? baird? LOL same epic failure of a 'leader' that stated (somewhere on here is a link to the interview) he had NO CLUE that CC - HIS county, mind you - had a drug abuse problem whatsoever, when CC - HIS county - is #1 IN THE STATE for drug abuse? same mayoral trash that has HIS properties as completely neglected eyesores all over j'boro.

so tell us, with your 'astute, and forward thinking'.. eh hem... logic.. why YOU keep voting him in KEEPING it this way, and getting worse?
