I think something should be done with the principal at jacksboro middle. She is as much a bully as some of the students.

Wheeler at jms is as fine an administrator as any in the county. Any teacher or student is lucky to go there.

is doing a bang-up job with test results. She's making gains, or rather, the teachers are making gains under her leadership.

We need a couple more like her in the leadership positions at schools.

Agreed but I sure wish she could get a handle on the bullying problem at jms. Im sic of it. Some of these so called parents need to straighten there kids out about taunting, name calling , making fun of other kids etc.

I have known this fine lady since we grew up here as children.I have also known her as my son's principal and she did what alot of teachers could never do,and that was to gain his trust and earn his respect, thereby sitting him on a path that has lead him to the marines.I could not ever begin to repay her for all she,and those under her did to make his future worthwhile. You go Ms.Wheeler,Val will always be your friend, someone who admires you,and knows what you've become for all our children.

She needs to get a grip on some of her teachers there...I know that some of the students there are bullying and taunting...Some even go as far as name calling but when the teacher is the one doing this thats where the problem is...I mean they are supposed to be role models for our children so when they see the teachers doing this they are probably thinking well why cant we....I am not going to say names on which teacher but I will say that it is a Science teacher...

If you're concerned about bullying have you tried talking with her about it? Actually setting up a meeting to voice your concerns?

I'm sure if you did and remained persistent in your insistence that it be looked into, I'm sure she'd look into it.

I have done this because I felt it was the right step to take. Nothing changed. My threats to go to school board had no effect. I can understand that after what i have heard about school board. We are moving so that my children can attend a better school.

teach your pansy kid to take up for themselves a bully is only as big as they are allowed to be. Most of them when stood up to will back down the rest will back down when someone kicks there a$$ or at least lets them know your not going to take it.

Go ahead and run now and you and your kid will run the rest of your lives.

Sounds like you were a bully in school. Some of us don't live in violent situations & won't subject our children to it. My son did stand up for himself but what parent wants to send there child to school when it appears that it is ok or even expected that a fight will be part of the day. The teachers & principal should enforce the zero tolerance policy. Especially when it seems to be the same 5 or 6 that fight with a variety of others. The school system is not the only issue this county has. That's jsut the one being addressed in this post.
