I was wandering if anyone knows the list of codes used in our county and what channel frequencies they are? Was thinking of getting a scanner but I don't know if it will be worth the aggravation.

Don't waste your money. I heard they were going to start using scrambled channels for everything soon.

I know my opinion dont mean sh!t here but I think it should be a civil duty of ours to know what our police do for us and when they find them in drug dealers homes add another felony by Destruction of evidence, but for those of us who use them responsibly I think we should know what our Police do for us everyday to be thankful of what Law we do have, NOT to be thankful of the dirty cops dont get me wrong. You know who you guys are, and you better watch your P's and Q's upholding for the wrong ones

There are too many scanner chasers and drug heads out there messing it up for everyone else. They said its an "officer safety" issue now.

Legally they can't scramble the channels. Demand it through Freedom of Information Act. It is supposed to be a public record, and if they tell you otherwise remind them they are violating federal law. Also remind them they work for you the public.

Their radio frequency has nothing to do with Freedom of Information. They have scrambled channels now they just do not use them at the county. Lafollette P.D. Uses scrambled channels frequently!

I dont know where you think you know the law, but you are obviously misinformed. it is completely legal and needed for some channels to be encrypted for tactical reasons and confidential information.

I agree with hag on this one. But it is good to know whats going on. There was a friend of mine helped catch a escapee a few years ago and he heard he was running around his home and went outside and caught him.
