I watched them coach one time and would not want to have to compete against them, to me they seem to get the kids ready to play. I think that they just might be what cchs needs they would not take crap from the fans or parents and maybe would show some people how to win games.

May be a good coach but just way too young to take that on. Not had a chance to mature yet so lets hire more experience and allow Matt to grow up and keep hime in mind for the future.

Look how young Jody Wright was! Either way, I hope they pick anyone but Vic King! Good Lord!

Well, I would guss "hmmm" is from down close to interstate and I was hoping this thread would not turn into a negative low class one discussion. I guess you have some merit in that I am sure jody was at one time ypoung, John wooden was alo, maybe even Bruce Pearl was 20 years old at one time.

Do we want to wait 15 years to discover if they can coach or do we select a proven coach. I am sure Wade Houston was young at one time, maybe Jerry Green, maybe Harold Sanders, Maybe Rod Harkleroad, maybe etc etc.....Yes we can do anything and just hope in time it works out. BUT was hoping for a serious discussion and not negative crap. Howvever this is topix, what do we expect. My Bad

How is what I said a negative low class one discussion? I just made a comment that Jodi Wright was young when he started coaching and he did well and built up an empire. YOU are the stupid one making all your comments about everyone being young. I sure rubbed you the wrong way! But, I don't think it was the "young" comment; I think it was the "anyone but Vic" comment. Yes, he's old and has proven to be a good ball coach in the past, but he has also proven that he should not be in the school system. He was thrown out years ago and somehow slithered back in. There's already complaints on him at Jellico. No, our county can't afford to have someone like him as coach again.

Well that is all that matters, cause they wanted you to be happy. So you can live happy from now on. Housley`s same team as an AAU team plays much better and really runs and scores as opposed to the slow down stuff nodoubt daddy and he learned under Len Pierce. Matt is a nice enough guy for sure, but his coaching is surely lacking. Our kids did much better in AAU plain and simple.

I'm glad Matt Housley got it.I think he will be a great coach. He knows most of the boys and how they play and will be able to relate to them well. I think he will do a good job and if his dad is able to come in every now and then or offer him some advice occassionally then all the more better for the team.He was a great player himself and I'm sure his son will do wonderful.Hopefully the school board will stay out of the sports department from now on and let the boys play without having to deal with all the drama. There were rumors that if Jones left then the boy that went to Halls would be allowed to come back.Does anyone know if that is true?
