I was there. It was a crazy time. I still have a scar on my finger from there. I know The Good Rats played. Who else played? Have you ever found any information about it. I would be interested.

I can remember New Riders of the Purple Sage, Blue Oyster Cult, Good Rats, Chubby Checker, Greg Kihn. Someone set a couch on fire and a friend of mine lost a bunch of her waist length hair.

Was there, & we were some of the very first hundred people to show up. We camped next to the "ladder stand" where 4 - 20 foot ladders were bound together with rope and a piece of ply on top. I also remember The Little Trolls among the others listed above. Great time, one of the best in my life.

I was camping at Wellsey Island state park that summer w/ a group of friends..and basically found the concert by accident... I must say it was insane!. Besides the bands the atmosphere was of epic proportions. My highlights was chubby checker in that he was old even then and remembering getting the crowd going and selling beers by the 6-packs out of a horse watering buckets stocked in ice and everyone was just wrapping the plastic holders to our belts and walking around... By the end of the night, the beer cans on the ground was about a foot or so deep in spots! We ended up sleeping out doors that night no condition to drive back to the campsite.. I've been to other crazy out door concerts the US festival in 83 to name one.. But for a concert w/ big names in the middle of no where w/ little of no advertizing to speak of, this was a bizarre one . People who were there understand what i mean. and like other great outdoor concerts can not be duplicated.

I was definitely there and it was my second. time. I was also there 2 years earlier in 1979. Saw the NYS fiddle champ both times. Remember New Riders, BOC, Greg Kihn and wasn't Ozie Osborne there too? Seem to remember him, but I was also trippin' bawlz for 3 outta 4 days.

I was there and remember the motorcycle gang right out of the eastwood movie any which way. Taking a leak in the woods at 6am i look over and one of them is sitting on a toiletseat supported by a stick frame and a stack of playboys on the ground next to him.

My cousin and I were hitching to the west coast and had made it as far as Pennsylvania from New York when we got a ride from some people who told us they were heading north to a 4 day concert by Thousand Islands. So we went. Never made it to the west coast that time, but had a great time at the concert. My cousin tripped for two days and I drank more beer in four days that I would normally in six months. Loved the fire hose they used to cool us down. Loved Chubby Checker and all the other bands already mentioned.

Wow, I was 15 and we camped straight back from stage in the edge of woods. We had big flag pole with a yellow flag. There was 5-8 of us there I think. We came across a big score just before the concert that we traded with so many there, we ended up with such a huge assortment of items that we proceded to do something different every hour. We had a blast! By end of second day I remember nothing and had really bad experience that effected me for months and the rest of my life. Can't blame it on any one drug as we did so many but the last thing I remember was white blotter. I had to drop out of school, etc. etc. I turned out ok in the end, but had so many hardships in my life because of this event. I never did drugs again after this. If there is one thing I could go back and change in my life it would be this weekend.
