INSTEAD of a social security number, we should be issued a gun. At an appropriate age, however.
Yes we should, if people had guns and the right to defend themselves crimes rates would drop overnight...

Because you can't conceal a car in your waistband. I read a news item from Florida (Sorry, can't find the link) where two gung-ho gun enthusiasts were both packing legal concealed handguns. They got into some trivial, petty argument and murdered each other. I just had to laugh.
The easy availability of handguns lead to impulsive acts. This is a factor in many handgun suicides. A break-up or loss of job will cause a temporary irrationality combined with a nearby handgun in the nightstand leads to tragedy. With no gun, no easy way out, a potential suicide victim will endure the stressor and live through it. I read that in the Journal Of the American Medical Association.
You said people fear guns and rightly so. They were designed to kill things. Cars were designed for travel. The manufacturers of arms are always coming up with more sick, sadistic and twisted ways of killing like Black Talon bullets designed for maximal tissue damage for example. Why are gun owners so scared and paranoid of home invasion is what I'd like to know?
I cannot believe that people are so naive haven't you heard of road rage they kill each other with cars .and isn't it kind of odd that we have guns now and we can hardly get enough ammunition you don't think the government has gotta hand in that thank again and I don't care if you want to still receive your government handouts but as for me as an American citizen government stay away from me. my parents taught me to take care of me and my own and I don't need the government to do it for me !

Well said--Obozo can keep his handouts and I will keep working for what I have.
As far as his question of why gun owners are so afraid of home invasion it is simple.
A majority of gun owners are conservative therefore we work and have stuff of value therefore more prone to break ins by people too lazy to work and provide their own and libs do not have that issue because a majority are on government welfare and no one ever got rich on welfare and therefore having nothing to steal anyway.

Do you honestly believe this? If conservatives are the ones who "work" than why is more money spent per capita on welfare in Republican states?

They honestly do believe it. They lack the ability to think clearly, logically for themselves and that's what theblaze, prison planet, Rush, wnd tell them to believe. CON-bots are sheeple: angry, hating, jealous, trying so hard to find somebody they can feel they're better than, unable to think for themselves.

Firearm extremists are scared of some unidentified boogie man, who'll break into their double wide, take that TV they "bought" at Rent-A-Center, steal their firearms and sleep with their painfully plain daghters and wives. So they need superior firepower to all others to "protect themselves" and level the playing field. Without that firearm, they know they're inadequate.

They're right, they are inadequate and they're scared. So some time ago, Wayne La Pierre and the boys at the NRA decided to play on their anger, fear, inadequacy, paranoia. To make use of it by telling them some bad guy was out there, out to get their stuff, to sleep with their women, to take their firearms away. Since many of them were lucky to get that GED, they believed Wayne.

In the NRA's defense, it's just business for them. The more good old boys they scare, the more ammo and guns sell. So ammo and firearm manufacturers will reward Wayne. No skin off of his nose when a few babies get murdered in CT, when one of their own slaughters innocents in CO. To counter bad press from the latest mayhem, they just tell them somebody wants to take their guns away.

20, 40, 100 more dead innocent victims are just acceptable collateral damage in Wayne's, the NRA's and the ammo and firearms manufacturer's firearm escalation and sales drive. They've got a captive, scared pool of buyers, who they've convinced can NEVER get enough firepower and ammo to protect them from that boogie man who used to live under firearm extremists' beds and in their closets.

Us reasoning, logical, self-assured folks might be going at this all wrong. We might well let them arm themselves to the teeth, conceal their firearms, even at the bowling alley, like the firearm rocket scientist did in the attached link. Then stay away from them, while they do what they do best and thin out the herd a bit, one accidental firearm discharge after another. LOL

Thats a fact that the liberals are on the wrong side of history.
I did notice something about us conservatives being insecure or something to that effect but for the most part all of the girlie men are liberals and fantasize about Obozo.
I am very secure about my ability to handle myself against any threat and the liberals are sure not a threat.
I'd still like an answer from liberals as to why if gun control is all about "saving lives" then why isn't abortion at the top of their list to ban?
That would save millions of lives there.
Then ban cars--countless more lives saved
Then ban alcohol--many people die from too much booze.
Lets ban drugs too--many people overdose daily and we could save them if drugs were illegal.
A woman choked on a hot dog at a Cubs game so lets ban hot dogs because if they were illegal she would still be alive today.

And we could ban tobacco--kills millions
And ban swimming pools--how many drowning deaths occur yearly?
we could ban peanuts--many deaths from those
Any more ideas for stuff to ban from the village idiots?
Its all about saving lives isnt it?
