School districts scramble to make good on pay raises

In the tiny Hockinson School District, the budget gap is $250,000. For Vancouver Public Schools, the shortfall is more like $4 million, officials say. via The Columbian

Isn't it ironic that the school budgets are facing such shortfalls, shortly after the state allowed $13.2 million dollars in grants to slip through their fingers?
