Food's food. It's ingested and it's egested, thus creating beaucoup jobs for planters, pickers, packers, shippers, market labor, unloaders, unpackers, stockers, clerks, cashiers, baggers, the people who go out at night and try to track down all the carts customers used to haul their stuff home. On the egest side, it's the plumbers, sewer workers, treatment plant people, and the EPA and PH folks who are constantly sniffing the air to discover who's doing what where, instead of where one should be doing it. So, finally we get down to the bottom line: Who sells what for the lowest price? That's where I shop.

Can't wait for FL and Costco to open in Kapolei. Safeway in Kapolei is a joke. Always out of sale items. Overpriced. Try to pull fast ones with their major "bulk sales". Non-sale items are a friggin ripoff at Safeway BIG TIME. ALWAYS out of sale items....that one needs repeating.

And Safeway poke is horrible.

These guys at Foodland are some of the best in the business
They run outstanding retail stores. The one thing that impressed me most is just how much they value those individuals who work for them.
Their meat cutter rank with the best.

Yah but they carry good brands and stuff you generally can't find elsewhere. No disagreement on their price, though Foodland and Safeway are both on the expensive end.

I disagree on the poke thing, though. They have the best spicy ahi poke hands down! Costco is the new place to go for poke now!

Foodland is expensive but I like that it is lcoally owned and the Sullivan family is very generous with community charities. Safeway gives nothing in Hawaii.

Well, if you do go to Market City Foodland DO NOT ask Steven in the Produce for anything unless you want your day ruined. He is the manager there and needs lessons in customer etiquette. Now-a-days you would expect employees to be courteous, as all of the other Foodland employees are. This is the first time that I have run into a grumpy and sarcastic person at this store.
