Okay, yes, its obvious the Denton Police do not make the smartest of decisions. Here are some perfect examples. If any of you have had bad experiences please post. I had asked someone to leave my home during a conflict and they had refused and began to assault me. I was in my home and I felt the right to defend myself. When the police arrived they tried to arrest me. Keep in mind I had a witness. They refused to talk to the witness and they said they felt it was no neccessary to defend myself in my home. I'm sorry, what? So what they are telling me is that if someone breaks in my home or I ask someone to leave I must take the abuse they bring upon me. Also, I was pulled over for "speeding" by a Denton Police officer. I have seizures under stressful conditions and when I am exhausted. I went into a seizure. When I woke up I was very tired. The officer said he found it convenient that I had a seizure when he pulled me over. I myself don't find seizures convenient. I'm not sure anybody does. He accused me of being on drugs. Seizure sir, not cocaine. The paramedics were called out looked me over took my blood sugar (they did not take my blood pressure) and said I was fine. After they left one of the officers told me to move my car a few exits up. I AM NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVING AFTER A SEIZURE! I was forced to drive to the next exit where I passed out again. It's a good thing I wasn't driving when it happened again. I'd be a rich lady.

I've gotten a couple of tickets since I moved to
Denton six years ago. They were the first tickets I've gotten in 25 years. I didn't really
feel like I deserved them but I didn't feel like it would do any good to fight them.

Are you allowed to drive if you're subject to seizures? Can you feel one coming on earlier enough to get pulled over? Just curious. You mentioned you are affected when you get stressed out. I can't get more than a couple of blocks from the house without getting
stressed out about some of the drivers around here.

Why are you even allowed to drive when you knowingly have seizures, alot of innocent people could get hurt as the result of you behind the wheel.

Yes, I can drive. I have a release from my doctor.
Only under special circumstances are licenses taken away for seizures. That would be DISCRIMINATION.
Actually according to a study done at John Hopkins University seizure related car accidents occur less frequently than accidents caused by other types of medical conditions. "Of the approximately 44,000 American drivers who died in fatal crashes each year from 1995-1997, an average of 1513 fatalities were linked to medical conditions, including seizures, cardiac and hypertensive disorders, diabetes, and syncope. Of the driver fatalities linked to medical conditions, 0.6% were related to seizures, 83% were associated with cardiac and hypertensive disorders, and 1% with diabetes. By contrast, 13,436 fatal crashes each year are alcohol-related, says Sheth. The FARS data recorded the same number of fatalities, but lower estimates of medically linked crashes.(http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/411141 )

Before you discriminate against people with seizures do your research, Explain. I've seen worse drivers with no afflictions. Here I'm going to judge you now. You are a bad driver because you make bad decisions to post on a topic you absolutely don't know anything about.
Besides that's not the point. I really wish you would have read the whole article. I'm pretty sure you won't read what I researched so in that case mind your own business, Explain.

I do feel them coming on and the stress has to be monumental to make me go into one. It has to be almost traumatic. Also, that day I hadn't eaten and I was very tired. I usually don't drive when I'm tired but I didn't have a choice that day. Seizures are usually brought on my several different factors. Thank you for asking and not just assuming.

I asked because a friend of mine had their license taken away due to seizures so how is that judging anyone? And alright.. Im a bad driver because I posted a comment that you didn't like?? Like that makes any sense but whatever makes you feel better about your cop problems. Take your real frustations out on the cops. That seems to be your underlying issue.

And again I ask why were you driving. You admit that you have seizures under stressful conditions and when your exhaused but you were driving anyway...that is the point I was making. So keep your "unpredictable seizures" off the road please otherwise someone else could be a rich man or lady due to your negligence.

Speed on Teasley, South towards Guyer HS
An officer parked his car behind mine, no siren
mind you, and walked to my car when I was at the
Hickory Creek Stop light on Teasley going South.
He informed me that the speed I was travelling,
around 30 mph,(he said, I think it was more like
35) was unacceptably slow. The time was 8:20 am
on a school day. There are two schools off Teasley,
both with slower traffic going in and out of.
In addition, there are numerous spots, it the
two mobile home communities, which are not
stop-lighted, from which folks enter Teasley
all the time. Indeed at least a few fatalities
have been caused by improper merging into traffic
at these spots.
Added to this are the many very inexperienced
drivers from Guyer HS going to school.
And the officer really thinks that 45-50 the
posted speed is appropriate for this time of day??
He sighted the number of accidents along this
stretch of road. He is correct there are far too
many. BUT-nearly all of these are intersection
accidents, or improper merging accidents from
side roads. I do know this high speeds whether
zoned are not, have had a factor in the death
of several my family and I care deeply about.
Sure, driving too slow may contribute to being
rear-ended, but rarely does it lead to fatal
accidents.

Maybe you shouldnt be driving at all if you have uncontrollable seizures.

By far... I am not impressed about Denton PD, lately they've been using unmarked patrol cars on I-35E, they park them ON THE LEFT SHOULDER, without any lights on. Now... correct me if I am wrong, but... in the middle of the night they could easily be struck by another vehicle, I just cannot believe what this imbeciles do in order to write out a speeding citation, I'd agree if they do this type of operation during daylight hours when they're clearly visible, at night it's a different story, this are clearly police officers with very little common sense, plain stupid or flat out they've got a death wish.

Denton PD ... what a joke!! I was turning right onto Loop 288 from Brinker road and received a ticket for "disregarding a traffic control device." The light was red so I came to a complete stop, checked oncoming traffic, and proceeded to turn right. Approximately 100 yards up the road a cop was standing in the middle of my lane and waving me to pull over. I did..(having no idea what was going on). I thought he was trying to divert traffic because of the construction. When he walked up to my car he asked me for my info and informed me that it is posted "no right turn on red at the interscetion." I apologized because I truly did not see the sign nor did my passenger.(no reason why you can't turn..the view is in no way obstructed.) He did not bother to run my information or anything because he was too lazy to walk to his patrol car..parked at whataburger. I have never received a ticket for any reason in my life. As the cop was writing the ticket he lectured me saying that I pulled out in front of a car, stopped over the "state marked line," and if I would have waited 30 more seconds the light would have been green. At this point I already knew I was getting a ticket so I told him, I would have gladly waited 30 seconds but I DID NOT SEE THE SIGN! Secondly; there was no car. However; there was an oncoming semi trailer turning left but he was very slow to get going and in the process actually ran the red light so I went..not even close to pulling out in front of him...besides I'm in a little car and I don't have a death wish..I'm not going to pull out in front of a semi. When I told the cop it was a semi he said, "oh that is what I meant." Thirdly; the line that dessignates where to stop had not been drawn yet because of all the construction. He was obviously standing there waiting for people to make the same honest mistake I did. There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to turn. Cops expect people to drive perfectly and make no mistakes and in my case what harm is done...give me a warning, make me aware of the sign but a $150 ticket. God bless the cops that are out there protecting and serving honestly, but I believe there are very few.

All those fools need retraining, they've made it a habit to make the headlines lately it looks like, either the Chief is out on vacation (Cats away, mice out to play) or he just doesn't really care about what these NEANDERTHALS do out there.
You should have fought that ticket, at least if you didn't win you'll ruin his day.

I thought about fighting the ticket but ultimately you will never win a case in court when it is a citizen's word against a cop's. The right of innocent until proven guilty goes out the window when a cop is involved...even if he/she has no proof.

I have embarrassed police officers in open court a couple of times, your best ammunition is knowing basic aspects of the law, court etiquette and bring up flaws within the Police Department's system. A word of caution though, some judges have a deep appreciation for police officers and do not appreciate embarrassing officers in court, I found that out the hard way, but fought the ticket gainst the judge and won anyway, it was a "Fix It" ticket, took almost 14 months to resolved, and at the end I came out a VICTOR.

Perseverance pays, no matter where you apply it.

You want to talk about Denton Police stupidity! After being stalked by Tad Dampf a known juvenile offender for over two months I finally had enough! I called Denton 911 and an officer Hueske responded. He began castigating me for "threatening" the boy! Who claimed at the time he was "innocencently working on his car".(by the way I worked nights and am an adult male over 50)
This at 1:00 a.m. in the morning! First of all young Dampf was not even supposed to be outside at that time since he was on juvenile probation for assaulting his mother! Officer Hueske arrested me after I called 911 again and asked for a seargent or leutentant on patrol and said that I was tired of putting up with the kid's constant harrassment and that I was not going to be intimatedated by the police either. I was arrested by Mr. Hueske for 911 abuse! Fought it in court as my own attorney and WON! Young Dampf' had two old cars with City of Denton decals that had been stripped from the vehicles, but were obvious because of the differnce in oxidation of the paint! OH! And by the way neither car had tags nor inspection stickers yet he had actually driven one car around me while walking to a club one night! Enteresting enough is Officer Hueske’s own report where he chit chats with Dampf for three quarters of the page while Dampf claims that he was outside “innocently” working on his car. Well young Dampf did not have any grease on his hands, there were no drop lights outside, no tool boxes were there to be seen. Mr. Dampf should not have even been outside of his mother’s house at the time. Mrs. Dampf later made history with the Denton Record Chronicle for protesting (with a sign in front of the County Court) that she was being forced to pay her own son’s fine! When I filed a complaint with Bob Summers of the Denton Police I was told that no violation of police or City of Denton policy had occurred! Also when I went to the records department of The City of Denton for open records requests I was told I had to submit my own form! Two hours later I had a download of the FEDERAL RULES regarding open record requests at the Municipal Center of the City of Denton! Lo and Behold! Suddenly the City secretary produced an open records act form! I mean you want to talk about stupid! I told Euline Brock and Mr. Summers that if no “city policies” had been violated then they need to change their policies. After eight months of standing my ground the case against was dismissed. But the stupidity still goes on! By the way the City of Denton settled out of court with me because I have sued in Federal Court before and do not bluff. I showed the City Attorney my original petitions to Federal Courts of Law in two other cases of police bias and misconduct. Mr. Hueske was lucky
that he was not hauled into Federal Court and stripped of his “qualified immunity”(his badge) for obvious predjudice on the part of someone he “knew” versus enforcing the law.

What the Dento P.D is is a who ya know small town Barney Fife mentality in a world where people come from all over! There are too many "officers" who "grew up" with certain people and it affects their judgement.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

If something is bothering you, it's important that you say so now, loudly and clearly. It's no good bottling things up any longer because that will only lead to resentment and a slow-burning anger. However, it's important that you know when to shut up too, otherwise you might overstate your case or sound so demanding that you turn others against you.
