If you think people aren't using these "Illigal" fireworks now your both dumb and extremly naieve(sp). I was once a resident of the strange state of Indiana, where you can't buy a six pack at the liquer store on sunday, but it's ok to slurp down margaritas at Chi-Chi's while watching the game, then drive home. When you purchase "Out of State" fireworks you are asked to sign a pice of paper and pay $2.00 for a license. This paper also states that you won't use them within the state. Yeah, right.

If you throw a cigarette out of the window of your car you will get a big fine, but you can now fill the air over your neighbor's house with burning rockets and exploding bombs sending burning enbers everywhere legaly. Some joke on the peace and quiet lovers of indiana!

Fireworks should have been legalized a long time ago in this state. It made no difference to the consumers lighting them off when the law stated they should not light off bottle rockets, fire-crackers, mortars, etc. Now that they have legalized it, they can better track injuries (which until now did NOT have to be reported), and fund new training programs for firefighters. Which was something that has been completely lacking in this state. Fireworks are not a big deal and really fun when used as they should be. You cannot tell me that in your neighborhood on the 4th of July that you do not see fireworks going off everywhere. At least, that is the case in most neighborhoods.

It is better to have a law that is enforced than one that is ignored. Be a little more opened minded towards change, as the people who signed this bill had to of been.

Im so tired of all the crying. Can't we just live. If a bottle rocket lands in your yard, PICK IT UP AND THROW IT AWAY!!!! Don't go call the cops. If it fall's in your yard again. ask the people to stop because it's falling in my yard. If they don't then call the cops. Bunch of cry baby @#@ people. Do something constructive instead of sitting watching t.v, eating, crying and calling the cops. ok I have now vented yet again, I love this

I'm glad you moved to Florida! It might help to know that fireworks have different classifications based upon the amount of flammables they contain. The law does not pertain to all classifications of fireworks. If you would take the time to stop and investigate such stands I believe you would find that most are probably selling a "CLASS C" classfication firework. Learn the law before spouting off.

It is all about freedom. A governments job is not to save me from myself. It's funny how on both sides of the political isle there are issues that "government" feels they need to stick it's money lovin hands into my life and protect me from my evel self. If I want to not wear my seat belt, not wear a helmet, or use elligal fireworks. Then I have to face the music when something bad happens. What they(government) have to realize is that it's not a good idea keeping nature (God)from doing natural selection. COnseder it thining the gene pool.

Since I left South Bend I've been a member of the US Air Force. I have traveled around the world and trust me there are more important issues out there.

People are going out of state to purchasing the fireworks and bringing them back to Indiana. Why doesn't Indiana cash in on the tax revenues because people will find a way whether it's legal or not?

My 2 cents

Unfortunately a few always ruin it for everybody else. You have the real winners that say "Hey, I bet the baby would love this" Then they put the car seat close to their firing range. I personally love fireworks and even though the little snakes are cute they aren't entertaining. All it takes is a little common sense when using them and everybody could have fun. There always has to be that one person that drops the bottle rock in the metal pipe and when it doesn't go off they have to look in the pipe and see why. We all know what happens then.

Get a life dead beat. Leave fireworks alone. Its
pathetic people like you that screw it up for the rest of
us. If you don't like fireworks then move or we can help that.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Gemini

A little give and take goes a long way, so try to be flexible and malleable when dealing with others. It will also pay to ask people what they think rather than to make sweeping assumptions on their behalf, because you could be in for a surprise. A child may have some interesting information for you, or they could make a statement that really sets you thinking.
