Fishing's 'year in review' for 2007
#1 Dec 29, 2007
Great review, but the report didn't mention the upcoming cut in Pollock quota for A/B seasons 2008 or the increase in Yellowfin that the trawlers are being allocated due to the decrease in Pollock.

I have noticed over the past 4 yrs I've been fishing SE Alaska, as a gear puller on a trolling vessel that the number of fish we've caught has been declining each year. My skipper is a VERY experienced troller, and yet we still catch less fish each succeeding season. Good thing the price per pound goes up or we'd make no money at all.
I don't know if we're even going this year, what with the price of fuel, which seemed to rise trip to trip. I certainly hope we are, but who knows.
