It is wonderful to hear a happy ending to a potentially sad story! EMT folks are such kind, caring, giving folks who put their lives at risk for others so many times and think nothing of it because that is just who they are. I want to thank, not only this brave young man for what he has done, but also thank all EMTs for the countless times they willingly take risks to help the rest of us!!!! You are guardian angels!!!

There were two men involved with this rescue, an EMT and a civilian. The EMT acted on reflex and did the job that he loves, the civilian acted with heart. It is no easy feat to maintain the tether rope in a water rescue. Its really great to read a positive story, especially after reading two cases of inhumanity. Here's to the good in most people.

This is an amazing story and a true testament that there are real heroes out there! My Dad and brother are EMT's and seeing first-hand what they do, both on and off duty, for other people when emergencies happen is so inspiring.

I work for State Farm and they made a new site, Thanksforbeingthere.com , solely for the purpose of thanking someone who has made a difference in another person's life.

I'd say these guys definitely deserve a shout out on there for what they did to help ththis woman! Anyone can go on though, and thank someone who has made an impact - kind of a cool thing to show someone you care during the holidays!
