Are you aware that Horses Unlimited has been reclassified as a business (rather than a farm) and the county taxes will be raised sufficiently that S. Turner can no longer afford to operate and will have to close?

Sherry runs the Horses Unlimited with no profit out of a passion for horses and people and the joy they can bring to children. Some kids will never get to ever ride a pony if it weren't for Sherry. She takes the ponies to retirment homes and has pony rides on the square and birthday parties. ALL HELP is volunteer.

Her effort enriches our community. IF YOU AGREE would you PLEASE call 1 County Board of Supervisor representative to ask for their assistance for a waivor OR SOMETHING so that she can continue to be classified as a farm?

I believe this is helping Sherry, but it is also helping Knoxville to be a richer community.

Maybe Mrs Turner should have looked at all aspects of running a business before she built the building. A business is a business is a business, no matter the location. Downtown businesses are not residential properties simply because they have an apartment over them, they are commercial because that is the PRIMARY USE of the property. What little knowledge I have of how the assessor's office works, it would seem to me a business is a commercial property. Unless the Iowa laws have changed.

I had the wonderful pleasure of taking my 4yr old that is consummed with horses to horses unlimited. If you could have seen her sheer delight & enthusiasm when she saw the horses then you too would ask for Sherry to be able to keep this wonderful not only entertaining but educational place open. My two nephews have been going out their to learn to ride & take care of horses, & they send their own money for this.Horses Unlimited is GREAT please don't let it close.

I really enjoy sherry and her horses.I know she may not have sheep or dogs on the property, but she has kindness and love. It took alot of money to buy the horses, but you want to take it all from her,and that is what I dont under stand. She has given time to others that no one has ever given befor. I have been to other horse farms and they are not as good as Sherry because they wont let you get off until the end. Other places my have better quality but some people are to busy to answer questions when you are on the horse, but not sherry she will always answer your questions no matter what. That is why I think Horses Unlimited should become a farm where people and there familys come together and have fun. If you are wanting they off the property because of money, well that would be stuped.
