Moving to Raleigh

I luv my "boring little town" of 133,000 people spread over 55 square landscaped miles.

I was over at city-data.com and tried to talk with some Raleigh Durham people. Big mistake.
They trolled me on the first post. Some person that had dark and moon in his/her name. And after that, I posted over in a computer forum... that same dude followed me! What a stalker! He/she trolled me again for talking about scrubbing hard drives!
They did not like a northern person wanting to talk on a southern forum. Must be still in the Civil War or something. I had an uncle that died in that war. What a waste.
At any rate, I'm sorry that you need to move to this place. It appears from my incident that these are the nastiest tribe known to mankind.

very hapy to have found this forum. I am a single mother of an 11year old boy. after living in the southwest for 10 years, i plan to move to Raleigh or Charlotte at the end of this school year. I work in the healthcare field, had a couple of job interviews, and everyone i talked to told me me great things about NC. could you please give me more info about Durham? where to live (safety first) public transportation or car needed and outdoors activities... tks

This is a great place to raise your family, u do need a car if moving to Cary and make sure u have a job lined up.

Do not live in Durham...too much crime. I work in Durham and live in Cary. It's a 35 minute drive for me and I have been doing it for 20 years now. I love Cary. Lots of conveniences and very low crime.

AGAIN, I have lived in Cary for 20 years and have never had one single act of crime committed angainst me or anyone I know or live near. I go ANYWHERE in Cary at ANY hour and feel completly safe.

Unless you have an advanced degree in computer science or chemistry (SaS, Cisco, or Big Pharma), don't move here. Very over education public and low wages as compared to D.C. and/or Atlanta area. Also, lots of "tax refugees" from up North looking for a free ride, but constantly whine about the lack of "services." Lots of Doctors and Dentist, but none have lowered their fees. Been trying to sell my house for over a year, and the real "snake" agents say there are no buyers for used homes. Ask any member of the Cary Town Council -- why did the former police chief quit?(short answer -- he wanted a gang prevention unit). What, what, there are no gangs in Cary, and no illegal aliens either (check out the trailor parks and apartments on NW Maynard).
Bottom Line: Cary/RTP is NOT the land of milk & honey as told by local politicians, real "snake" agents, and developers.

Cary is a great place for someone looking to raise a family, it is safe and a little more upscale. Durham is supposedly up and coming but still not my ideal location and Raleigh really depends on where you go. www.thetrademarkcompany.com
