Making Our Schools Better

Wake County Schools are continuing to decline, and the rift between the School Board and citizens continues to widen. Look at what happened at Leesville last week, a high-functioning school got blown up and converted to MYR.
There are nine School Board members, and we only get to vote for one of them. The result which we see every day is a School Board which is unresponsive and unaccountable.
We need accountable leaders running our schools, and they should be elected at-large -- 86% of NC Counties have at-large elections already, we're living in the stone age.
The state legislature has to grant Wake County authority to conduct at-large elections. Last year, bills were introduced to do exactly that.
Linda Coleman voted against the legislation. She actually voted against giving her constituents more of a voice in schools. She voted that way because that is how her party leadership told her to vote, and her track record as a party-first politician is well-established.
Take a look at Duane Cutlip. He supports giving us at-large elections for school board, and is not a party hack.
