My 17 year old son was jumped and beaten by 4 adult males and a woman in wishram washington lastnight. Ever since we have been here which is as of today 1 month. We have been gossiped about by the community of busy bodies. Last night my husband was jumped by another man who was enjoying the entainment of watching another mob fight, everyone standing around watching including adults watching , the adults from the bar also, the adults having a party next door to us, including one man in his 30's who came out side to help the punks of wishram beat my 17 year old and try to kill him, this man in his 30's i hear has aids, he kicked my son numerous times and threw undercut punches numerous times while my son was laying on the ground. What was the reason for this terrible beating down of a 17 year old? We are the new people in town", that's their excuse. Excuse me, for being homeless, no jobs, without a car, almost starving, no showers, and still pressing on looking for work everyday, having the Salvation Army linch mob ridicule my 17 year old son because he needs to use their shower the first of school, him walking in with joy because he gets to go to school, only to leave in tears, because the woman running the show: Ridiculed him, belittled him, because he needed a clean town! Sleeping at Rest Areas all summer, on the pavement in front of the car that we did have, which was his also, but wrecked on his way back from Biggs after a shower was given to him from a wonderful couple who loves Jesus and lives on the road as truck drivers. My husband went looking for my two sons down the road to get them in to go to bed. We all had work in the morning. My son Lee starts school Tuesday again at the Community College in The Dalles. My other two sons’ Chris jr. and Moke’ just got jobs at McDonalds yesterday. And I their Mom just started a new job
2 days ago. This would have been my third day at work. I had to take the day off to take my sons to the hospital.
My husband seen a fight at the basketball court, Adults from the bar just standing there watching. Crowds all around just standing there. While this young man was beating on another kid. My husband couldn’t stand to see this, so he proceeded to walk over there and try to enourage the young men to stop. Some larger young man began throwing punches at my husband (with out a cause). My husband was able to dodge the blows, but he get knicked on the tip of his nose. He comes back to tell me , he didn’t find my two boys, and shared this episode with me. Then he proceeded out the door to try searching my our two boys again.

He seen a mob of 25 people or more across from the church. And my youngest son Lee standing in the midst of the crowd surrounded by them “crying and bleeding profusely”, my husband drove up to the crowd, the crowd then disperses and disappears into the darkness. He brings my sons to me. He proceeds to call 911 and the police. They show up, the medics, comprised of this little town called Wishram in Washington. They check over my son, and I let them know that I am taking his to the hospital. The police take our reports, then , try to investigate the neighbors next door and some of the young men who were all adults involved in the beating of my 17 year old son. I did not see any one go to jail. It was obvious that this was a planned deal with this little town of Wishram.

I told the police I was pressing charges. And nothing came of it. It is now day light. I am going into Oregon to follow up on this matter. I will follow-up with the Authorities that be and the Hospital.

Please let the country know. That being a Bully is unacceptable.

Wishram is a very tough area, there is still no excuse to abuse others, and there is much violence in this area that goes unreported. Fight for your sons rights, and I'm so sorry to hear what happened. As I too have children and use to work on an ambulance.

It is now January 17, 2010 and still there has been no arrests. I have had to move to Arlington Oregon. And here only 2 weeks. I was arrested because of plastic bags sitting outside the trailer I moved into. I was held all night for Theft 2 for recieving bottles and cans. I did not receive anything. And didn't know that those bags outside the trailer were stolen. "if they were". In any case: How come my son who is 17 years old didn't get justice like those plastic bags sitting outside the trailer i just moved into? Why me, a 48 year old woman, sick with Pulmonary lung disease, with blood clots that keep building up trying to kill me daily. Why did I get taken to jail for plastic bags? And my son never got justice for his broken body? Why? Can anyone tell me? My husband in jail right now for the plastic bags. Now,tell me where is the justice in this Land of Freedom? Why are those plastic bags more important than a life?

Now that you have defined Wishram as "town fukk of D and and "very tough place". lets ask. Why so few other postings describing Wishram like a scene out of the movie deliverance. The reason is clear. Wishram is a small community (no gas station) mostly retired with a influx of welfare people. Many , not all of these have drug /alc problem.s My guess is the mother posting fits into the later. Her 17 yo likely gravitated to the problems in town, seems like mom does the same. Wishram, nice quiet lil R.R. river community. I go to enjoy the solitude.

Wishram is a railroad town that has some nice things about it. It's own fire department, utilities, post office,restaurant/bar, store (being remodeled), a lovely park, a nice school, church, and a train depot. The Columbia River runs right along side of it, and it has the distinction of being the longest inhabited place in the US, between 10-15,000 years. The Wisham Indians make up a small part of the population, and there are rock drawings, some from a time even before the natives lived there. The little town also has its problems. Deep unemployment, unwise use of drugs and alcohol, as well as robbery and other vices. As a whole most of the folks are middle aged or retired, although some new families are venturing to Wishram, to see what small town life is like. I am sorry for the lady's problems, but it sounds like she might have some of the problems that those spoken of above have. It is my hope that she and her family can get help to straighten out their lives. Other wise they will continue to go from town to town and will continue to have the same problems.

I believe that everyone was to see the size of the community. It would make sense. Being that the family was there for a few days. Working and attending school. I believe that some folks just want to stay in the quick sand and want others to sink with them. something should be done about what has happened to this little family. And you need help.
