There'd be no murder charges for Clayton Stafford without advances in DNA technology that link him to the 1993 murder of Shawna Yandell.

Clayton raped me when I was 15. That was 36 years ago. I hope they can put him away permanently. I was under the impression he was already serving life but apparently not. This sickens me to know he has been continuing his criminal career. I feel like I have been punched in the stomach.

I grew up in the same neighborhood he was much older about 8 years older than me. We were told to stay away from him and his brothers because at that time which was in the late 70's he had already had a reputation. I believe victim number what. There is no telling how many other victims there are. I know for a fact that he can be charming if he wants something,. I was luckey that my boyfriend showed up when he did because I think I could have been a victim number what also.

clayton has been a friend of my fathers for the past 15 years now, there have been times were he has been there to babysit me, been alone with me, my younger siblings, my neighbors and other friends and not ONCE was this something any of us would ever imagine. all you over dramatic liars out there need to just shut your mouths and let justice run its own course, regardless he will answer to the lord one day not you, not the court judges, not me, but GOD! stop making a bad situation worse with your 'what ifs' and nonsence of 'oh he used to stare at my kids' SCREW YOU AND YOUR DRAMATIC CHILDREN, people like you NEED to be raped and thrown in a river, not the poor girl it happened to. whatever he may or may not have done isnt up to anyone but the good lord to say what is to happen to him from there. you people have too much time on your hands. get a life and stop putting yourselves in a position where you CAN be raped, it's up to YOU where you are and who you hang around. common sence is up to YOU!

You are entitled to your opinion but using God and talking like you do, is not selling your point. This is when religion is used for evil not good, if there is a God, he would not want you talking to anyone like that over something you apparently are not versed enough to know about. The way you talk, and the way you come across is that you are illiterate so how could you know the psychology of rapist? Count yourself fortunate you were not a victim and find some compassion for those that were.

Sick n tired is "sick"! People don't asked to be raped or killed and thrown in the river. I beleive that he is very capable of doing such a crime. I knew everyone of his brothers and sisters, in fact one of his brothers was a boyfiend of my cousins. I know how screwed up that whole family was. I think that your father was a fool to leave any kids in his care. You are just lucky that you were not one of his prey,.(Or maybe you were and just don't remember.) You need to thank the good lord for watching out for you. Unfoutunully that was not the case for Shawna. I hope he gets the chair!

I can see that you feel very strongly about this because you knew him personally. However your ONE statement that "people like you NEED to be raped and thrown in a river" negates any point you could have made in his favor.
Someone MIGHT have read your post & thought - hmmm.. maybe there is more to this story. But after your angry, violent rant, probally not.

Unless you all sit and wait for 16 years to hear that they have finally caught the person that did this to someone you loved, you will never understand. My heart goes out to all the lives that he brutally affected with his hideousness and total insanity. Thank the Lord above for watching over you. May he get everything the law can possibly throw at him. And most of all, may Shawna finally rest in peace.

I knew Clayton for about 7 years when he lived in hesperia CA.. he was always nice and good to my family and would be there at a drop of a hat if ya needed help. That being said .. knowing Clayton I believe he is guilty of this crime and im sure many others
