I just had my car serviced there. I wish someone would have warned me before I went. First I delt with Elias when I brought the vehicle in for an oil change he asked if I wanted a visual inspection done during the oil change. I said sure. About an hour later the oil change was done and Elias tells me that my car needs some work that it is unsafe for me to even leave without getting the work done. My oil change was 19.99 plus the visual inspection of $9.99 thats a little more then $30.00 the bill he showed me was $2567.43 I was like what the Apparently i needed a battery, headers, tires, brakes, and god knows what else. I was scared out of my mind I really didnt think it was safe for me to drive and I believed everything that Elias was telling me. HE then told me that he would even have his lead mechanic work on the car to make sure its all done right. I had to work so I couldn't get the work done till Saturday and it was Tuesday so I was scared to Drive anywhere but I made the appointment to come back Saturday morning and get the work done. As I was leaving one of there mechanics was out front and he looked like he was pissed off about something. I want say his name cause i believe he still works there and i dont want him in trouble. But he came up to me and told me that everything Elias told me was wrong with my car was in fact wrong bu that Elias talks it up to every customer and tries to force them to get it all fixed right away. The mechanic also told me that nobody likes Elias including the Lead Mechanic they all want him gone cause he is TOO much of a sales man. He over charges for parts and everything to make more money for himself. The mechanic then told me to go get estimates from other mechanics and opinions.

Mechanic 1 - Follow the Son Automotive in Saint Cloud total Bill was $1,456.00 And the Owner told me that alot of the things that were bad were barely bad and that I could go for another year on them with no problem. He also advised me to do the work in steps. His hourly rate for labor was $65.00

Mechanic 2 - NTA in Saint Cloud Wouldn't give me an absolute cost bill but they said it would be roughly $1,800 and there hourly rate for labor was $90.00

I called back Elias and asked what his hourly rate was for labor and he said $102.00 hr

Next thing I did was call different parts suppliers to find out how much theses shops were up charging me for parts

Follow the Son - 35%
NTA - 46%
Firestone - 88%

These numbers are approximates based on my calculations. But thats home much they incresed the cost of the part from the average suppliers.

So after all of this research needless to say I have completely fixed my car now and i did it in 3 steps over a 2 month period. and paid only half of what i should have.
