i am very much a right to BEAR and OWN a fire arm. but also support the owners of private property their choice. personnally i think if every law abiding person bare a fire arm, crime would drop like a rock

What doesnt this guy understand. Under this new law, there are "exemptions" that the lawmakers agreed upon. Disney falls under the exemption. Case closed. This guy is WRONG, and broke the law.
What he should have done is hire an attorney to fight the exemption. But WDW has every right to fire this guy. |

So why should it matter if the Florida Attorney General gets involved or not? Does that mean this limp-wristed idiot judge can't make a ruling without some one hoklding his hand! either he finds ground for the injunction ior he doesn't, what a pansie!

The guy traded away a perfectly good job for a right that he had already relinquished when he signed the "terms of employment" paperwork. And don't look for a book deal, he signed that right away too! |

I guess now the car jackers know if you have on a disney name tag you don't have a gun in your car.
|
|
He should've allowed Disney to search his car. Now he's lost the crutch of his argument because Disney did not take action based upon finding that gun.
I think Disney's use of this exemption is pretty lame, but that's why they pay for all those lawyers and lobbyists. |
|
The judge didn't want the Attorney General, Edwin did. He didn't like the judges answer, so he thought getting the Attorney involved might get him what he wants. This guy is a bu!! head anyways. |

Just curious? Case scenario, you work for an employer that belongs to the THA group, that's "Tree-huggers of America" so he is against guns and anyone being able to transport them onto his property. No biggy, but you complete your days work and head home. You pull up to a street light and some wacko comes running over to your car yelling for you to get out of your car or he's going to kill you. Now, you can't very well stop him now that you are not armed because of your THA boss so now it's become a "Biggy"! Or you stop in the convenience store going to or from work and find yourself in the middle of a armed robbery, how are you going to protect yourself then with your weapon safely tucked away at home? You might even come up on some perp fixin' to blow his main squeeze away and you could possibly help divert his attention and save a life, but noooooo! You've been relegated to nothing more than a spectator! The scenarios are endless. Where this guy made his mistake was broadcasting what he was going to do to start with and put Disney in a position that they had to respond to. That's a really "Biggy" no-no! |

Sotomayor should have waited until it was made officially clear whether WDW was exempt from this law and had the right to prevent their employees from keeping guns in their vehicles. He wanted to "show his ass off" by making a point and now is unemployed. I am sure his family is feeling the crunch. With the way the economy is, he should have been patient. He has (I assume) been working at WDW for 13 years without this law and a couple more weeks or months would not have made a difference. Did he think about his family's financial wellbeing when he did this or was he only thinking about himself? He probably was thinking that he would sue and get paid by WDW so he would not ever have to work, but I doubt that will happen. He was not suspended or fired for bringing his gun, it was because he failed to let them inspect his vehicle. Under the employee contract, he should have let them inspect his vehicle. I don't believe he has a case against WDW. Then he has the face to set up shop at the gun show to raise funds for his defense? Come on ... what is this guy on? He should be drug tested.

There is a difference between one guy making a complaint, and the People of the State of Florida making a complaint. That is what the Attorney General will do.

I don't know which article you read but the one I read reads like the following.....and I quote...."Turner (he being the judge)advised Sotomayer's attorney, Jon Gutmader, that he would be better off if the florida Attorney General joined the action" Now who did you say wanted what? |

The Second Ammendment states a right to bear arms, but there is nothing in there that say you have the right to bear bullets. LOL
So the NRA can have their guns, but make the bullets illegal. They are not covered under the constitution. (FYI, this is sarcasm in case all of you gun totting lunatics out there dont understand humor) |

The issue that faces Disney and Sotomayor is more important then it sounds. To example ones right to privacy; You drive to your friends house and he/she demands to search your car. They don't have the right to search your vehicle but the do have the right to keep you from entering on the property. Now the law is stating that employees can bring concealed weapons to the parking area of the place the work.Disney fired Sotomayor for bringing the concealed weapon or refusal to comply with the search?Or both? This topic goes in too many directions dealing with privacy, civil rights and state laws.I no way imply that know the answers or even going to try,but for all of our sakes I hope Sotomayor wins this case.

WFTV is reporting that Sotomayer's attorney, Jon Gutmader is being paid for by the NRA. The NRA wasn't very smart attaching their name to this idiot. He is more interested in promoting himself than true gun rights. Since he was fired he can't even get unemployment. Whoops.

No, you see Disney did not fire him for toting a gun for work.. they fired him for refusing to cooperate with the investigators. If you watch his YouTube video he took where he was illegally filming when he was in the security vehicle you get the drift of how he operates. In any event, they could fire him for filming other cast members when they expressly told him not to or illegally filming backstage which he was doing in his YouTube video as well. It's not the gun to work that got him fired. You should do a little reading up before making uninformed comments. |

Yes, the law is that you do have the right to carry a firearm in your vehicle and into a publically accessible parking lot. I believe that Disney's argument is that their employee parking lot is not "publically accessible." Which is ridiculous.
