Football, waitresses in referee uniforms with shorts, wings, steaks, beer...sounds like a winner...finally. Sunday bruch, Sunday Football...beats anything else in town. Good Luck, I'll try it out.

I am looking forward to trying this place out. Since the City will be getting their cut - the cops will stay away.

Went to 3 Rivers yesterday and decided to drink lunch after I saw a damn brat cost $9. Hope to see some good wings at this new place at a reasonable price. Good luck.

There have been fair-good restaurants at the airport in the past.

Lance's catering for the most part has been good.

After the drive back when flying into ABQ airport or Durango LaPlata airport, it might be a good place for a meal.
He should offer a half price drink when you bring in your airport parking receipt.

With 3 or 4 expensive flights a day, parking won't be a problem and if you drink to much, there is long term parking as well.

A local guy might make a go of it, however he will have to overcome the reluctance of Farmington citizens - they are still mad and say they will not support Standley's Folly.

Sounds like this new place has already lost the plot. We don't need another Chilis and Applebees - we've already got those in town. And what's with the silly costumes?

As I said in an earlier post about the SkyHaven restaurant, we don't need "atmosphere" and big TVs, we need good food at a good price. Silly ass costumes, "motif", "atmosphere", and big screen TVs only add overhead which will jack up the menu prices.

If Farmington residents want Chili's, then they'll go to Chili's. If the airport and municipal employees (courthouse, police, etc.) want lunch, they usually just brown bag it. Dinner? They'll wait and go home. And Great Lakes passengers MAY stop in for a cup of coffee or a doughnut, but won't spend money for lunch just to throw it back up on a bumpy flight. And the arriving passengers just want to go home, or get their rental car and go to their hotel - then worry about food.

The snack bar at the Great Lakes gates in Albuquerque Sunport and the snack bar in Durango-LaPlata County Airport are two good examples of how to do it right. There's no goofy gay costumes, just reasonably priced food. Period.

Barring that, get a semi-permanent roach coach parked out in the short term parking area.

Glad to see the City opened this up for all local restaurants to bid on, wait no they didn't, they just gave it to a Farmington Employee who has connections to everyone. Good ol' boys win again, whoo hooo yeee haw. And the women will be dressed in hoochi momma outfits, which is par for the course in this City.

I think it sounds fun. I would support a place like this. It is fun to watch a game at a sports bar and grill. It might be too fun for some, but they can stay home and make a sandwich.

"Build it and they will come!"

HA!

Oh, maybe they might want to make the
flights out of the airport competitive
whilc they're at it.

What a joke. Someone should write a book
about all the stupid things this town
does and the way they step on folks each
and every day.

Listen........this concept will never work. Location is everything. Locals will continue to choose Applebee's, Outback or Chili's for a fairly cheap meal. KB Dillon's and the Bluff's will continue to see their "regulars". The mexican restaurants will continue to do well. Who wants to drive to the top of a hill..........out of the way........above the Police station........to grab a quick bite and a beer? I assure you......it will be the minority. The city screwed the local taxpayers from the very beginning on this one. It just won't work. It's time to cut our losses and move on.

It sounds like fun to me! You can go to Chili's or Applebee's anywhere around the country....It's nice to see someone wants to do something fresh and different! I agree with "Average Joe"...If it's too fun for you, stay home and make a sandwich. Good Luck Lance!

Good luck Lance! Sounds great to me!
I don't think the uniform thing sounds like they are going to hire a bunch of sleezy or hooters type women. Men and women can both wear referee shirts!
C'mon people...give it a chance before you start knocking it!
I have attended events where they have catered and the food was very good. Aside from the magician and hypnotist, I think the atmosphere and the sports bar theme will be great.
People went to Senor Peppers so why wouldn't they go to Zebras if the food and atmosphere and good and the price is right?
Anyway, quit being so negative people!
Go for it Lance!

I'm sorry but this is probably your downfall when you cater to sports enthusiast. As a family member I would like to take my wife to a good resturant without all the noise and encountering rowdy drinkers. The food have to be good not some Mexican TV dinner that was warmed up.

But yet people are willing to drive to Durango for good food. If the food is good, people will go out of their way to get there. I would. Perhaps drinkers will curtail their drinking if they have to drive past the police station.

Thanks for your comment, I know there will always be negetive people out there to quikly bash anyone willing to step forward and take the risk. I did report to the newspaper that I wanted to be compared to Chillis, Applebee's, Outback, and Fudruckers because they are all on the east side of town. Like them you will be able to recieve Lunch or Dinner style meal. Unlike them this faciluty is located on the west side of town. We will offer great food with great service at a reasonable price. As far as the bid process; I submited a RFP just as anyone else in the world had the opportunity to do so, I really wish you would have offered one also. The fact that I am a city employee had no positive gains, rather the fact that I have owned and operated a Catering buisness in farmington for the last 8 years and family dinning establishment for the last 3 years did bare positive reinforcement of my RFP. As you will find the uniforms will be of the up most respect for both the male and female staff. I am very excited for the grand opening and can't wait to share this addition to the Farmington Dinning experience. Please post any comments, concerns, or ideas as they will all be considered. Thank you for your posts, Lance Johnson Zebra's Sports Grill.

If he keeps it affordable, maybe they might build an airport around it.It was a nice spot for the Comedy Club and stage acts were classicly funny.I hope they can get it going again.

At least you get to comment, and get what you want, or don't want! Here in Bloomfield we don't have any restruants to argue over, and most likely will not for 5-10 more years..How long are we in Bloomfield supposed to be a glorified Off-ramp to Farmington?

No insult to our 8-10 eateries, feeds truckers, almost makes good money, good buisn and employees, can't disrespect that.

Chili's,Applebees any where? NOT here!! TGIF, not here!! Taco bell, NOT HERE,MCDONALDS, NOT HERE,, get the darn point!!! not to argue over things you may get,, that NO ONE ELSE WILL...EVER!

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
