Looking at many of the up coming elections I was surprised to see how many offices have no term limits.
"American politicians, special interests and lobbyists continue to combat term limits, as they know term limits force out career politicians who are more concerned with their own gain than the interests of the American people.
USTL stands up against this practice. We are the voice of the American citizen. We want a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, not a tyrannical ruling class who care more about deals to benefit themselves, than their constituents".- http://www.termlimits.org/
I encourage everyone to voice their thoughts on this.
I feel there is no political position that should be in the hands of just one person for more than 8 years (so 2-4 terms depending on the office).
After that there is overwhelming information that those political people become lax or self serving.

So true, I look at those running for office AGAIN here in Taney County and I feel my heart sink. The appropriation of funds in the county has brought us into a feeling of despair. Our county could go completely broke if something doesnt change.

We need new people in office that have fresh ideas and are not stagnant!

Nice to see 7 people vying for Eastern Commissioner (incumbent is Danny Strahan)

3 running for Western Commissioner (Jim Strafuss
is running for State Senate)

3 running for Sheriff (incumbent is Jimmie Russell)

3 running for Treasurer (Helen Soutee - is currently in that position but is not running again)

quite a few vying for positions within their designated Central Committees

I say vote in some new people. Lets get back on track.

I VOTE FOR TERM LIMITS!

The best thing for all of us is to vote in some new people for sure.

This town been run by the same gang for years and years.

A lot of them related too.

The people already have the power to limit the terms of elected representatives. All they need to do is to vote in someone else.

If a majority of voters want to keep the same person in office, why should their choice be denied?
