Army makes exception for Sikh doctor; he can serve with beard, turban, long hair

Dr. Kamal S. Kalsi stands Thursday, June 4, 2009, near Saint Joseph's hospital in Paterson, N.J. NEW YORK - The U.S. Army will make an exception to a decades-old rule and allow a Sikh doctor to serve without removing his turban and cutting his hair, an advocacy group said Friday.
