I text with my sister in Humble around 10am Sunday, text messages still working voice cell phones are sporadic at best, power is out, but they did fair much better than Houston.
My sister already called last Sunday and she said she's fine. Trees in her backyard were down. Her house got flooded but thank God she's safe and the trees did not hit the house. Praise God for her safety and protection.

My son and his wife live on Trophy Place at
Walden on Lake Houston and they have no power
and today, Tuesday, September 16th, they heard
on the radio that the water pumps have failed
and the water is contaminated. Everything is
closed for at least the rest of the week.

Hey. My Sister and her family live in Humble too and I haven't heard from them. Has anyone heard how they faired the storm? They live in Walden on Lake Houston Country Club. Do they have power?
My neighbors in Walden told me 2 hours ago they still have no power. I left the day after the storm to Mississippi. Several large trees were down and in the neighborhood and some shingle damage to the roofs.

I hope you hear from your sister and her family.

I live in Humble and request information on an organization able to remove a large tree which is partially uprooted and leaning dangerously toward my house.
My 78 year old mother is with me and she is scared out of her wits.

My brother and his wife live in Kingwood a few blocks from Lake Houston. I still haven't heard from him. Does anyone know how that area was affected by Ike? Thanks.

It is Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, 1:00 a.m. My daughterand son-in law are residents of Humble, TX. There electrical power is not on. Some folks in their neighborhood are purchasing generators, because they're not certain when power will be restored.
Some stores are opening, so we hope that they will have the ability to purchase much needed items soon. Some restaurants have opened, so some are resorting to eating out. Overall Hurricane Ike hit a resounding blow to all that I've spoken to. However, I do not believe that the extent of the damage is nearly as bad as parts of Houston nor as bad as Galvaston.
