When Dairy Queen was where the Country Luau is at, Burger Chef where Yeng Ching is at and Gaffords and Stop N Shop across the street. Texas Theatre down town, Javelina Dance Land off of Armstrong and FM 1355 (I think this is the name of the road). The small pizza place at Avenue F and Armstrong Street. Big Scoop where Pizza Parlor is at. Texaco Station at Armstrong and Corral across from the current convenience store. Buying Pop Rocks candy at Stop N Shop. The Texas Gold Stamp store where you could redeem the stamps you got when you shopped at HEB when 9th street intersected with King Street. Reyes Cafe and La Siesta Restaraunt on North 14th. The drive in movie theatre just East of the liqour store at 14th and Santa Getrudis. Chela's store on East Avenue and the 5 Cantinas on East Corral between 6th and 14th Streets.

I remember buying my clothes at the Benjamins (where Trinity driving school is now) to get ready for our cruising through Sonic and ending up at the caliche pits. Those were some great times. Just parking at the Bank across from sonic for awhile and everyone would show up. Things were so fun back then. You rarely heard of any of the violence you hear about now days. I also remember the lock ins at King Bowl....
