It's not a bad thing to be paranoid. It's called better safe than sorry. Why should we wait until it's too late to take action?

Us as parents need to check our children & make sure everything is OK with them...it's children who are messed up in the head who're shooting up schools because they can't handle their problems. If you're kids weird, get them counseling because you & others might end up dead. I checked my children's Facebook & other factors & hopefully their OK, but it's hard getting them to open up about their social problems. These kids nowadays don't have any form of releasing their frustrations so they act out violent tendencies, like their stupid video games they play.

I agree we should be making sure are kids are safe, they are in good mental health and be supportive!! Alot of people lose sight of the simple things that make our world go around...I would be more than happy to speak with a district representative because i would much rather be safe then sorry!! These are our children our future and we need to be their voice! And to the negative person who needs to get a LIFE because obviously your not a parent so open up a book, better yet the bible and do something productive!!! This post was for parents and family who don't want to repeat tragedies

Well said. We're not saying or doing anything wrong. We're not trying to upset anyone. We just think the kids should be safe. They don't bother anyone they are just innocent babies trying to learn. If anyone has a problem with kids then stay away from them, you don't have to put them in danger or mess up your life. Just live life for yourself and try to focus on things in hour life that need to be taken care of. There's no need for violence and crime. If you think we are paranoid then that's fine stay away from us and our kids and let us be paranoid. It's not hurting you so why be upset that we want to protect our kids. You were kept safe that's why your still here and able to make negative remarks. These kids deserve to be kept safe too.

What's really sad is that people are taking advantage of the tragedy and using it to be lazy and skip school. "I'll get to sleep late if I tell my parents I'm scared to go to school."

Get them to school, dammit! Our community can't afford to be uneducated any longer.

Don't encourage chaos at your child's school, either. Teachers and principals are affected by this, too. I agree with the post about taking care of your own kids and their mental health problems. THOSE parents are the ones that need to be afraid.

Keeping kids at home does not solve security issue that you seem to have. If you keep kids for every rumour (or truths- if the news reports it) then your child will lose credit for classes. If there is a security issue do you really think a phone call will resolve it?
