Were there any disciplinary actions taken as a result of the sideline antics at the last Brahma home game. It was certainly an embarrassment for the team, the school, and the community as a whole. I hope KISD administration handles this in an appropriate manner. This is not the time for a slap on the wrist.

Everyone needs to mind their own business. It was taken care of by the athletic director and is already done with. The action taken is no one's business besides the athletic director and the people involved. Just get over it already. Dragging it out on a forum like this certainly isn't making the community look any better.

It is my business!!!! I pay school taxes, there for it is my business, dick head. I'll find out what action was taken towards the coach and player, then I'll post it on this forum. There is not a damn thing you can do about it either.

The sooner everyone stops talking about it and stop bringing it up the sooner it will be put behind everyone involved and the necessary improvements can start.

Handled by the athletic Director? Since when is a discipline/staff problem handled by the Athletic Director. When a student or staff member is involved in an "incident" during a school related extracurricular activity it is to be addressed in the same manner as a classroom incident. This isn't a double standard is it?

I wonder what would happen to a student or staff member that was involved in a similar incident that occurred in a classroom or hallway rather than in front of thousands of people. Sometimes the only way to get the stink out of dirty laundry is to let it air out.

Wasn't it between a coach and his son? If so then who gives a shit. Was it right for them to do that in front of a stadium full of people? No. But let them deal with it as they see fit, after all they have to deal w the embarassment that came with it. Next topic please......

Pay taxes or not, this incident needs to be handled by the appropriate authority. The fact that it happened at a school function negates the fact that they are relatives. If they didn't want this to be aired out in the public then they should have acted a fool behind close doors at HOME and not at a public event. If it was your kid that had an incident with a teacher wouldn't you want it to be handled appropriately? I would think so.

If my son would of embarrassed me on the field like he did to his dad I would of slapped the black off that boy!
Typical Africans.
Good job kid on embarrassing your family in front of hundreds of people.

It is clear to me that neither person on here has played football, which is an highly emotional sport. So, if the father and son has an emotional moment and hundreds of people witnessed it then it just shows they are human. No one is talking about the incident that took place before the father and son "meltdown". the refs mad a bad call and kicked the boy out of the game....and a punishment has been applied to all that were involved.

Since when any game of any sport ever been immune from a bad call? Emotional or not, it doesn't give the excuse to act a fool. Cooler heads should always prevail.

So apparently I'm the only person who doesn't know what's going on.

From what I gather, a player messed up on the field and the coach slapped him when he was taken off the field? The coach just so happens to be his father, am I right?

If this is the case, it was completely inappropriate. The coach/father was acting in his professional capacity, not his personal one. This shows that there is a bias towards his son, which is unacceptable, whether it be a positive or negative bias.

But that's just my 2 cents.

I agree with you. There is a time and place for everything and that was not the time and place to discipline his kid.

in a perfect world, the cool headed would and should prevail. But in reality, the emotional and unpredicatable side comes out. I am not saying that what happened was right nor wrong. What I am saying it that we as citizens or even parents of one community should stand together and not knock down the whole team or coaches for one incident. I am sure they are facing their own challenges on dealing with this act. Let us as a community stand united for our team and our coaches. Let us not air our dirty laundry for all to see.

I don't think anyone has said anything about the team or the other coaches. There is no right when it comes to a coach/father striking his son, in a public place or otherwise. It's WRONG!!! Oh and yes I played football from the 6th grade until I was a senior in high school. Ahh yes an emotional moment, only in Kingsville would someone come up with something as ridiculous as that. People get stressed everyday, but I damn sure wouldn't put my hands around someones throat. Is that what you do when you have an "emotional moment?" I surely hope not.,

Well to set the facts straight...the son punched the father, not the other way around. It was a heated moment between two memebers of a team. And no I dont go around hitting someone when I am "stressed" but I am mature enough to know better. This is a 16 or 17 young athlectic teenager who happens to have passion for the game, and he made a wrong decision. But should he or the team continue to recieve such negatavity from people that voice their opinions based on hear say rather than facts....
