Impact fees repeal could come in November
Georgetown County Council is willing to do away with impact fees, as long as residents approve a one-cent sales tax in next month's General Election.

Once again, the developers come in build a bunch of housing units and expect the rest of us to pay the tab for increased traffic, sewer and water demand, police and fire demand and more children in the schools.
Impact fees are a way to ask developers to pay their way.

Don't forge - the developers can take the cost of impact fees off their taxes at the end of the year as an expense of doing business. Unless you're a Mitt Romney, don't expect to be takng the regressive sales tax off at the end of the year.
