I went to the Officer Timothy Brenton memorial today at Key Arena. How terrible somebody would just do this terrible act.

On a side note, never seen so many police cars in my life.

Prayers and thoughts for the Brenton Family.

The media has gotten completely out of control with these rediculous televised funerals. I think it was stupid for the guy to shoot an officer but the service was way overdone in my opinion.

@Baker 15...."it was stupid for the guy to shoot an officer" Seriously? stupid is the only thing that comes to your mind. Try putting your life on the line every time you go to work and then you can open your ignorant mouth about ridiculous funerals;JACKASS!

@Flydancer.

I do put my life on the line every time I leave my house and have to deal with asshole people in their cars everyday.

About these televised funerals.

I don't know the guy and the fact that he was a police officer does that make him any more special than anyone else? It's gotten to the point in this country when someone dies the entire civilized world has to know how great that person was. There are great people everyday that serve their country in one way r another and get little to zero recognition when they get killed. What makes this guy different from them?

This entire ordeal is just the city of Seattle going overboard yet again. I'm not the only one who feels this way either so screw you.

I can understand your point of view baker15. We have military wives who are losing their husbands all the time overseas in the middle east and many of those guys don't get anything NEAR the recognition this officer got. The reason for the big funeral service was because it hit so close to home. I do wonder however if it was a rookie officer (1st day on the job) if it would have been different.

It was a terrible thing that happened no doubt about it. I hear they perhaps captured the guy who did it and the dude is recovering in the hospital? Anyone know how thats going and if there are any updates?

They are supposed to bring charges, but still haven't said whether the car under the tarp matches the one on the dashcam (beige, one passenger side headlamp out).

As more lose jobs, homes, health care, pensions, and mates, then there is a rise in the fear of being a victim of violent crime and a call for more police to protect property. I have found that those that hate all police tend to be predators, victimizers and the first to call the cops when they have a problem.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
