she's only been there for 30yrs and you want someone there who increases the actual prices on the house you want to buy which in the end increase your taxes... then lets look at it from the other side of the fence... you've got a house that you want to sell and actually make a profit from it, but when your realitor does her mark up then your buyer compares sells in your area... guess what NO MONEY FOR U, research then bitch

also no one can change state law, no matter who is elected anyone elected to the office has to follow the same state laws that teresa k. has to follow and has for the past 30yrs so do you want a person lying to you saying "i can lower this and that" when if you go actually into her office and ask her or anyone of her employees who makes the taxes and the rules around here???

Most of us taxpayers are more interested in affording to pay our taxes, not sell.A tax increase after tva,s damage done to this area is ridiculous. Who in thier right mind would want to buy property here now anyway ?
30 years is long enough. someone who holds a county office should not be showing up in the court records as having charges dismissed and charged to the court.

She was elected in 1994 and no matter who was in office this time would have had to do the same thing... Believe what you want and vote for who you want, but damn know what you are talking about...

My 30 year comment was based on ALSO A TAXPAYERS comment above. Check the Roane County News Court reports.I don't think RCN would publish incorrect court reports. So aside from the mistake in the number of years we have been blessed or unblessed by Ms. Kirkhams position,I know what I am writing about. Why would anyone have to raise taxes after a major disater caused by a government company has lowered property value ? Maybe more cruise's ?????

Because that evaluation is based on home sales in period that included before the ash spill and ppl were building homes, also when TVA bought the homes sometimes at greater value than the worth those people turned around and bought better homes or built homes which guess what? was more than if they had stayed, as a whole land value went down, but it doesnt mean all styles and locations of homes went down.. this issue isnt black and white and it never will be..

How many built or bought better Homes ? How about the lake homes whose owners recieved nothing ? How about the damage to the water ways that all area residents could once enjoy without having to worry about risking thier childrens health ?

Taxes- most bought better homes, and if they had insurance they were compensated and TVA bought millions of homes... As far as it effecting their health- im sure it will and tva has to be held responsibile for it, but Teresa Kirkham isnt TVA..

Tryin to refinance my home and she was way off. The bank done a check of homes comparable to mine and Teresa had to have lied about my house. She set it at county tax rate of 90k and bank said 71k tops. Yeah she did not do her job.

as i have worked in and around banks myself two to three years ago when banks would have appraisals done they would be 20%higher then the taxes for no reason then the banks lost money because of doing that so now they magicaly come in 10 to 20% low the banks should be held accountable for the mess they made by being greedy all their appraisal is for is to try and cover their but and to make money.county run and state moniterd office never have nor never will make a profit from following the laws set forth by the the state

oh give me a break with that, you must be a politican as well. And since your so up to date on everyones baggage what about cheryl poole laxton's home wrecking a 25yr marriage, and her records, and also she is a real estate agent her goal is to get a low appraisal to have the overhead of the asking cost to pocket more of the selling profit obviously your not doing you research very well, my advice is take an accounting class and attend a few of the counties meetings that kirkam is speaking at

Seems you are the only one on this forum throwing out "baggage" as you would like to call it. And then criticizing someone else for supposedly being a "politician," seems to me you are doing exactly the same thing. You have done nothing but politic for Kirkham since you starting posting comments. After reading your comments, you went from being a real estate expert, to a lawyer, to telling someone to take an accounting class. Seems you may be a bit confused as to who you are and where you are from. Why do you seem to be so concerned with a Roane County election when your location clearly states Knoxville?

I am living in Rarity Ridge and paying taxes on a home valued by the Roane County Tax Assessor and Melvin Moore to be valued at $212,000 and the recent appraisal was for $150,000 but they couldn't get rid of the revenue. So, myself and many others (hundreds) are voting against the current establishment.

Do you have any idea how many sweetheart deals TK has done? Absolutely (probably) within the letter of the law, but ethically and morally bereft.
In return, the people she takes care of will keep her in. That is, unless enough people she's bilked get together and fight.
Probably will never happen, but be careful that whom you put in isn't worse than what cha got in, you know?
Just look at Low Down, I mean loudon county. Their tax assessor saved rarity millions. Some brave people pushed the point, a state audit with an outside person was conducted. You know what? They found that Doyle Arp DID in fact, sway certain lots and not others, to the benefit of the owner. They then said, out of the other side of their mouth, that there was nothing that could be done criminally to him.
Oh, and now Arp is county mayor. Food for thought.
