Why do you care if you don't believe in God? Or, is this your way of wanting to know about God and how He can become your personal Savior?

1 Corinthians 1:18-25

18For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written,

"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart."
20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

The only question I would have for "hope for the best" is if you don't find hope in Christ, how do you know what is best and where is your hope?

Erik McKonkey. Religion is HIS opinion of whatever. Terrific show but no depth.

There are extremist on religion sides as well as non-religious sides.

For those who follow Christ, we are extreme not because of who we are but because we follow a crucified Lord who rose from the grave to save us.

Whether the person who follows Christ is a "Bible Thumper" or a humble person quietly prays, we are radical because of Christ, not ourselves.

It is just so amusing to me how atheists almost always start fusses about the Lord. If you are so sure he isn't real, then why even waste your time talking about what you believe is a figment of people's imagination? I don't believe in Big Foot, notice you don't see me making a thread about him, or anything involving him. You feel the need to argue or make fun of His people, simply because he is offensive to you. I just hope you, and all atheists, learn the truth before you are face to face with the very Savior you have renounced your entire life. It would be such a shame to believe then, only to be told it is to late.

I would just like to know someone that visits. I don't go to church anywhere but I do believe in Jesus as my savior. I think that you can be saved and watch preaching on tv the same as you sit in a pew for a couple of hours. I say just live as an example. If you go to church on Sunday then the rest of the week you do and act anyway you want then that is discouraging to others that truly try their best to live for the lord. And you don't have to thump a bible to get someone's attention. Just mention the lord and what he has done for you and how much he has changed your life. If they listen that is great. If they don't then pray for them.

I just don't see how anybody can put faith in a religion or anything that would have you believe that everything that makes you happy in life. Leads back to a deadly sin that you are guilty of nope no thanks keep your pipedreams of a fake city in the sky

Who said anything about religion making you believe that everything in life makes you happy? Exactly what religion are you talking about here? I have never one time been taught that being Christian makes your life perfect, as a matter of fact, it has always been stressed that being a christian doesn't make life perfect. That being said, I would still much rather live in this crappy world with Jesus in my life, as opposed to going through it on my own.

True Christianity is submission to the Creator Judge. God created us so He deserves to be worshipped. Since God is holy and we are sinful, God provided a substitute for us, Jesus Christ.

Only by repenting of your rebellion will God place Christ's righteousness on you and place your sin on Christ.

It isn't easy nor does it promise a good life until you reach heaven.

I find it offensive that so many people follow blindly. We are forced religion into our heads from an early age. Its the exact definition of brain-washing. We are forced to beliece in something that not a single fact supports and we believe it whole-heartedly. Why is it we can give up Santa and the tooth fairy who are taught to us in the same form but someone speaks out about god dare they!!!! I for one believe that if there is a almighty all powerful god and he sits idle and lets a tsunami wipe out 200k children in one swoop or lets a single child suffer though abuse or rape then he can frankly go screw himself. And for those who believe that stuff like that can happen in this world and he's gonna answer your prayers for that brand new bass boat, then i'm sorry but i can't help but think less of you. Religion is only there to let the weak have some assurance about the purpose of line and instill discipline to keep those in line. We are past the point of needing this in todays age, well at least until i see people supporting complete morons such as Palin for president i think that. This world would be better off realizing that there is no such thing a god. We could then concentrate on living longer healthier lives. That assurance people have into an afterlife causes way too many people to give up, hopeless in this life. it's an absurd notion that those of us who see through take way too much crap and have for too long believing the way I choose to.
