I had a trailer on Craig's list that I've had for 3 years now an officer contacts me wants to look an when he showed up off duty starts by asking is it registered do you have a title I'm like I'll write you a bill of sale never owned a used trailer with a title and as far as I can tell doesn't require one by Tenn law unless its going out of state and the officer basically threatened that if I couldn't prove I owned police can take it and can be bought through an auction cheap so is he this guy crooked or what?

He's scamming you. He may be a cop, but he is still a thief. He is trying to confuse you with comparing it to a motor vehicle. What is required to make it road-legal has nothing to do with simply owning it. Since when do you have to prove ownership of a trailer sitting on your property.
Now, if you are paranoid because it is a stolen trailer, you should be afraid.

Thank Tennessee's asset forfeiture laws for that one. This is why cops don't want legal cannabis; they have been robbing people this way for years.

The way I understand it by Tennessee law utility trailers do not have to be tagged or a title if that's the case then everyone would have to give up a lot of what they don't either have proof they purchased it or titled like all these cars and trucks and boats on craigs sitting around and being driven around lost titles or whatever they don't have proof of that's a bs law like the jerk hitting on this guy for a freebie cause he sounds like a crooked cop and to cheap to buy one so ill steal it fucking theifs

I could tell you about how many chiterling eating, crooked and vengeful cops I've known in my life. However, I don't want to sicken anyone here.

In the "Drug War" 80's, cops and Sheriffs Deputies were re-selling drug bust controban. Constables were stealing tools out of peoples carports and were bullying teenagers every chance they got. They got away with it because they had misplaced public trust and they would make token drug busts before elections.

However, try to report something stolen. You will get, "We'll look into it but don't expect any results." Then, you happen to forget your seat belt one day and guess who gets pulled over while soccer moms with those DARE stickers in their mini-vans go speeding by 20 mph over the limit.

Bob/Dan is the most illiterate person that has ever wasted bandwidth on the internet. He deserves to be scammed after writing drivel like this. Stupid people deserve to be taken advantage of. Survival of the fittest is what it's called. Learn how to punctuate, then come back and tell your silly little story. It'll still be stupid, but at least we will be able to understand it. Thanks.

Now they just steal peoples' cash on I-40 for the crime of having out-of-state tags.

Have you ever heard of punctuation? You deserve to be harassed by police.
