Is there any more information about this?
Ive watched Kingston CPS drop the ball so many times in ONE case its scary. Also have the records to prove it.
The CPS investigators are top notch, the best.
The CPS family services and legal department are seriously lacking.
Ulster County laws about the use and behavior of local CPS office essentially ties there hands before they can anything.
I know, Ive seen it.
Watched a repeat child abuser walk away time and again because the legal department says "Not in the interest of Justice to prosecute" to the HORROR of the investigators, officers, judge and other lawyers.
Why is Ulster County so screwed up?

What information would you like? Ulster County is not alone in this aspect of allowing the abusers to walk freely. Our entire country is having major problems in the area of CPS. The funding the federal government has set up focuses on adoption/foster care rather than reunification/community services. The problem is that an abused child is much harder to get adopted especially a drug affected infant. Hence the abuser walks and the innocent, low-income families with little means of fighting back are targeted so the states/counties make their adoption quota. The federal case will attempt to reform Ulster County so that laws and guidelines are followed. The U.S.Constitution must be respected while doing there jobs. Families must be afforded every effort of reunification not focused on the dollar sign. National statistics show it is far more dangerous for a child to enter into foster-care than remain in the home. This also is caused by the desperation of finding foster homes and some of course not all focus on the money they will recieve for becoming foster/adoptive parents. It is quite a handsome help to have a special needs child in your home. Childen are falsly diagnosed and medicated to meet the special needs standard. In other words CPS is now a business earning monies instead of focusing on the single issue they were created for...child protection. I dare anyone to enter fight cps into their search engine and read for a few hours without having their hearts ripped out by the stories you will find. Abuse is ignored and innocent families are ripped apart. My prayers go out to all the families losing their very loved children for the American dollar.

I've seen actual child abusers walk around flaunting the abuse for years, while other people who reach out to the system for help get run through the wringer. I don't think their investigators are top notch. Rebecca Flynn and Connie Gihr need serious help if not IQ tests.

Anyone have issues with LaChelle Smalls? Unfortunately for me, she. Was caseworker involving a bruise on my child, put there from his mother. Ms. AmPle decides it was ok to kick my son because " things happen ". Through doing my homework about this woman, I have learned that she was kicked out of New Paltz School district for her extreme unprofessional behavior. Now, unfortunately for her, after my family court case is finished, I am hiring an attorney to go after her.

Ms. Smalls' job is to investigate whether an incident happened or didn't happen, its not her job to decide whether its right or wrong. Maybe its ok to kick children in her family, its not ok in mine.

CPS is a joke! I know that at least 12 different calls made on one person regarding neglect and abuse and nothing was ever done about it. Is has been going on for 9 years. The CPS worker calls the the person before coming to the home, to give enought time to clean up and and get food in the house so that everything looks pretty. A joke! No surprise vists, no evening visits or weekend visits, it is out of control! The ones who pay are the children, its about time they have a voice and to be heard. They are the ones you might want to ask not the parent regarding the alligations. No instead they ask the kids infront of the parent or have the parent go into the next rm, they if the child does say something and the cps worker leaves; the kid gets beat. Until the next time and the next time .... WAKE UP! There are too many cases that are not taken serious, the children of our future are falling through the cracks and does anyone who can actually do something even care?

I had two separate CPS cases open and CPS botched both of them. The CPS worker Michelle Keto came across as being caring and attentive and competent, in the end she swept everything under the rug, and her neglect resulted in my child being in the hospital. She admitted to not reading the evidence I gave her, Also she not only neglected to do things her interference in my child's case actually hindered my daughters safety and progress. the last conversation that I had with her she said I (me), can't be always right about everything I told her its not about winning an argument its about the safety and well being of my child and after all that she has seen if that's all she has to say she is incompetent. I read the criteria of abuse and neglect on the CPS web site and my case clearly met that. The Emergency room nurse was able to negotiate and accomplish in 2 hours what Michelle could not do in 2 months. (she didn't even attempt to do anything). both reports came unfounded which means buried forever, which means nothing can be used in court to protect my child. I know two other people in my town who's children were abused over and over due to nothing being done with abundant evidence being given. They are both incompetent and lazy. And just try to get things off their list and get their paycheck.. There is no oversight and no repercussions for these disgraceful actions.

There NOT licensed social workers nor are they equipped to do this type of job. This system is beyond broken its a dangerous and archaic, non research based practices.
