I've been curious about the stone building on one of the trails. Does anyone know what this use to be? Alot of people know about it and been there but have no clue what it was/is. I've never been able to find any info about it online. Just wondered if it use to be a old homestead of perhaps the Meyers family since their cemetary is out there too. Maybe its just a old park structure and nothing more. Its currently just overgrown with weeds and abandoned with no roof. Its very small and the stone walls seem old but secure. Would love any feedback on your thoughts or knowledge of this structure. I just assume its connected to the cemetary from my own thoughts. I cant find any history on the family cemetary out there either. Just interesting to me since the cemetary is so isolated and from the 1800's and so old compared to when Pekin itself was established in records.

I am curious as the the exact location. I know that area but never have seen the stone building. I do know where there is still some concrete rubble on top the hill but not a building. I have old maps going back to the late 1800s of that area showing a few homes. Then in 1900s a coal mine was near the cemetery but only operated 6 years.
