That is a professional level salary. You need to have a college degree (masters level healthcare, engineer) or own your own business. Upper management in the bigger businesses in town and some of the higher level professionals (physicians, lawyers) wouldn't even roll their eyes for $100,000. The CEO's at Wellmont, HMG, and Eastman make rediculously more.

100 grand in salary isn't big money anywhere in this country.

Because our wonderful American tax system punishes the high earners for their success, when you make more money, you are actually making less money. The more money you are making, the higher your taxes. In this country you can't win, especially with people like president Commie Darkie Muslim in office.

So you invest in your education, you invest in your company, you go out and work for years to better yourself, you make the sacrifices that others were unwilling to make. Well now the black guy wants you to "pay your fair share" as if you haven't sacrificed enough already to get where you are.

In fact, the top 50% of Americans are the ones paying all the taxes, while the bottom aren't paying any.*None*. And yet that ain't good enough for darkie, he wants to raise taxes even more.

So really, there is no point in wanting to earn that much money. There is no point in wanting to have a good education and get a good job. In fact, you would be a lot better off financially if you went to work at McDonalds and kept your earnings as low as possible. Instead of paying taxes, you would be reaping Earned Income credits every year. And Obama would be giving you free gifts.

Meanwhile all the top earners will be the ones paying sky high taxes to cover the cost of Obamacare, Obama welfare, Obama food stamps, and social security disability benefits for everyone who doesn't work for a living.

Only in America do we punish people who want to achieve success, and reward those who seek to live lives of selfish laziness.

I'm not one to blame all of the countries problems on just one person but you are right about the taxes. I went back to school to get my masters. Now I make a little under $100k but my taxes went up & I'm struggling to pay back $60k in school loans. I have a kid in college, a 3 yr old car, and a plain old ranch style home and no savings. I'll never get to retire. In many ways I am worse off than before I went back to school but my kids' friends (who's parents don't work) have as much or better than them. And as a perk to my 50hr/wk salary job, I have to listen to people who get a government check to pay for their housing, food, and medical care tell me how I "have it made". Lucky me.

more rhetoric and hyperbole with a little racism for good measure-eh?
while its true that the left has some shortcomings on the tax issue. the right certainly like lowly paid employees and resources-hence outsourcing and illegal immigrants which they have mostly been soft on.

both sides have betrayed us for different reasons. welfare is a sad reality because you cant have people living in cardboard boxes with no healthcare. its what distinguishes us from a third world country.

because we have to pay for it seems to bug you. you can characterize everyone who is on such programs as being worthless or undeserving but you really dont know their circumstances.

there truly are alot of dumb, sick people out there. but there are reasons for it. back during the slavery era big business and govt decided that blacks were expendable and would be so dumb as to be slaves all ther lives while being maligned as stupid and worthless. they fostered public opinion to think like that and because of the riches the rich made in the cotton business among others is why we have alot of ills as a result.

when the rich or others make people into animals how can they keep deriding them for being animals?

the thing is that the left is socialist to a fault. but you my friend ignore every cause and effect dynamic created by those you support. your modus operandi is to blame the party you oppose with no regard for how it was wrought.

as for $100,000... in KPT it will buy you alot more than in a city.
the cost of living is less expensive. KPT itself has many transplants who move there for that reason. sure they pay higher taxes but their dollar stretches farther in KPT than in Palm Beach.

simple dynamics.

People only live in cardboard boxes in the US if they want to. America is land of opportunity. The left has made it to easy for people to "survive" off the government. Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" started four generations of welfare recipients who are satisfied to live at that level. Read or youtube Dr Ben Carson speeches, I think you may be enlightened as to what can be accomplished, if you want to.

So you don't want to blame all our problems on one person. How big of you. Well fair enough. The thing is, it might not have taken one single person to get us to the shape we are in today, but one single person is all it would have taken to put us back on the right path.

Obviously, Commie Darkie Muslim is not the person to solve our problems; he is too busy taking us down the road that Karl Marx and Chairman Mao paved. And maybe Mitt Romney might not have been the person to solve our problems either. We will never know.

But there is one thing we do know for sure: the electorate wholesale rebuked spending within your means, personal responsibility and fiscal conservatism in favor of gifts from Obama. Period. The laziest among us decided this election, and they sold us all out for a government check. And now freedom is disappearing, business owners are being thrown under the bus, religion is under assault, law-abiding gun owners are under assault, we are 16 trillion in debt and counting, and the IRS is buying drones and military assault vehicles. And Obama is just getting warmed up, he hasn't even started yet!

Sure, Obama seems like a personable guy, pleasant and handsome. But this election was not about which candidate has a better personality or which candidate has a hotter wife, this election was about the difference in ideology: Doing what's right versus getting handouts.

Obama's continued popularity is more than enough to show you that Americans today aren't interested in doing what's right. They aren't interested in finding a solution to our economic woes. People do not want a good job and honest work when they can instead have gay marriage, food stamps, and wealth redistribution. The entitlement mentality has taken over; cradle-to-grave dependency on the government.

Bend over.

60 grand in debt on a Masters degree. Excuse me, but how dumb could anyone possibly be!!! LOL at your misery! If Pelosi and Reid have their way, in 5 years the minimum wage will be 20 dollars an hour plus free foodstamps and a free Obamaphone. Hope and change.

if we didnt have those things people would be living in cardboard boxes. shanty twons would rise up and so on. you replied about the state of things now. i was replying to chowders derision of the state of things now. i was saying without it people would be living that way.

only if you want wouldnt cut it then.
depression era people know.

blacks forced into slavery and later peonage know.
im not sying it doesnt suck that so many are dependant on the current system. it does.

it should force some upward moblity. if it had then we could enforce immigartion laws and make welfare recipients work those jobs.

but the by product of taking away these programs would be higher unemployment rates, people out in the cold or without any healthcare coverage and generally a blight on society like higher crime-which happens everytime there is an econimc downturn. disease would increase. children would suffer.

so, joe, read what i was talkin about and dont just start writing to say what you wanted to say anyway when replying to my posts.

if you think all those things i described wont affect you if it happened.
i would say you are wrong. you cannot insulate yourself from the effect this would have on society.

Well, it so happens that I have saved much more than $30 dollars per day. My point was that it can be done with a small amount of money per day. You can do much better if you work a couple of extra jobs when you are younger or older. The Dave Ramsey way works wonders when you stay out of debt and pay with cash only.

You have referred to slavery in a couple of times in your posts, I have never owned a slave, I have never benefitted from slavery. Democrats andthe great society have created a system where the government has assumed the role of the "father figure" in the african american household. Notice the spike in out of wedlocks births since the the 60's and LBJ's program. 74% of African Americans now born out of wedlock. Where's the daddys? The government becomes the bread winner and this welfare access perpetuates itself thru easier access to housing, childcare, food stamps, etc. This also creates more crime, which leads to more cops, jails, drug rehab centers, the costs to the taxpayers goes on and on! Look at the steady rise of the percentage high school dropouts since the sixties. That rate is decreasing in the white supurbs, and increasing in inner cities, and rural areas where government welfare recipients tend to reside....no we cannot have people living in cardboard boxes. I think this is where you and I differ, I believe there should be a time limit on welfare, 3 maybe years. I belive if a kid drops out of school then the parents of the kid's government assistance should be cut. I believe in drug tests for welfare recipients....
