Me and my wife are moving to kingsport from central Ky. She got a jobs there and i am just wondering how the job market it. Ive put in 34 apps myself so far and nothing so just wondering. Thanks

The Kingsport job market is absolutely horrible & you really have to know somebody to gain meaningful employment. Kingsport is a high Manufacturing & Medical market, so I hope that your skill set will fit this.

above poster is right... go and get a two year degree in some facet of the medical field ie. CNA, nursing, radiology, physical therapy tech, respatory tech etc. and you will have an easy time finding a local job...

I hope your wife is accepting a GOOD job and not just a mediocre one. Think long and hard about it. I have no idea what life is like where you are at now, but this area has minimum wage restaurant jobs and is full, over-running actually of welfare trash and druggies. This area does not even realize the country is in a recession because that is the way of life here. Always has been always will be.

well we are not in recession, you dont know what a recession is dummy , it is 3 quarters of negative gdp , but your right these bums need to get a job and get to work

im looking for a decent paying welding position around kingsport. im moving from wv in march because of the lack of jobs here. i am certified in mig fluxcore spray transfer and 7018. i have 4 years experience with mig and tig and various thicknesses. if anyone knows of a good place to apply please let me know.
